Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lark Bjorn SP-220 / SP-230 Dual — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-6SP)
The BL-6SP is a 3.7V 1200mAh Li-ion cell that fits the Lark Bjorn SP-220, SP-220 Dual, SP-230 Dual, and SP-230 Dual SIM smartphones. It replaces an original cell that has degraded, lost hold time, or stopped charging. Rated at 4.44Wh and measuring 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.70mm — confirm these dimensions against your existing battery before fitting.
- SP-220 and SP-230 Dual compatibility: Both series share the same battery bay dimensions and the BL-6SP connector pinout. The voltage rail at 3.7V nominal is consistent across single and dual-SIM variants, so one cell covers all four fit models listed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the BL-6SP through charge and discharge on the SP-220 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without protection trips, and the charge IC reached cutoff at the expected 4.2V ceiling.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after installation: On first use, disable fast charging if your handset supports it, then run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter to the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Lark Bjorn SP-220
This is a voltage cliff failure, not a capacity failure. When the modem fires for a call or the display backlights at full brightness, the cell must deliver a short current spike. An aged or deeply cycled cell cannot hold voltage above the BMS cutoff threshold during that spike, so the BMS trips and the phone shuts off even though the OS reported charge remaining. A fresh BL-6SP cell has lower internal impedance, so voltage sag under load stays within the operating window. After fitting, run one full discharge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates to the new cell before trusting the percentage reading.
Phone will not power on after the battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the BL-6SP dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout to prevent cell damage and the phone shows no sign of life. Connect the original charger and leave it undisturbed for 15–20 minutes — the charge IC applies a low-current pre-charge trickle to bring the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once voltage climbs past roughly 3.0V, the BMS releases lockout and the phone will power on normally. Do not attempt a hard reset before completing this trickle phase.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Lark Bjorn SP-220 keeps showing the wrong battery percentage after I fitted the new BL-6SP — is that normal?
Yes, and it corrects itself. The fuel gauge IC on the SP-220 stores a discharge curve calibrated to the old cell. When a new cell goes in, the coulomb counter is misaligned and the percentage reads high or jumps erratically. Run one complete discharge — use the phone until it shuts off automatically — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that full cycle the fuel gauge IC rewrites its calibration against the new cell curve and the percentage stabilises.
Fast charging stopped working on my SP-220 the first time I plugged in after fitting the replacement battery — what happened?
On the first charge cycle with a new cell, the charge IC on some SP-220 units defaults to a lower current profile until it confirms the BMS is responding correctly. Disconnect the charger, wait 30 seconds, then reconnect. If fast charge still does not engage, complete one standard slow charge to full — this handshake between the BMS and charge IC usually resolves on the second cycle without any further action.
The phone feels warm near the battery during the first few charges after replacement — should I be concerned?
A new high-impedance cell produces more heat during the initial charge cycles than a broken-in cell. The internal resistance drops after the first few full cycles, and the warmth reduces accordingly. Monitor that the phone is not hot to the touch — warm is acceptable, hot near the battery compartment is not. If the temperature remains high after three full charge cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated, as a partial connection raises resistance at the contact point.
