Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sonstige Equinux tizi Mobile TV — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion cell is a direct replacement for the Equinux tizi Mobile TV portable receiver. The tizi was a compact over-the-air TV tuner that ran on battery power for mobile viewing. Swap this cell in when the original no longer holds a usable charge.
- tizi platform fit: The tizi's compact PCB draws a steady low-current load from a single Li-ion cell at 3.7V nominal. This cell matches that voltage rail and the original's physical footprint at 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.70mm, so the connector and housing seat correctly without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell under a sustained low-draw load matching the tizi's tuner and display circuit. The BMS held stable cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and did not trip spuriously under normal operating current.
- First-cycle calibration on the tizi: After fitting, run the tizi from a full charge down to automatic shutoff before recharging. The tizi's fuel gauge reads against a stored discharge curve — one complete cycle lets it lock onto the new cell's actual capacity rather than the degraded profile of the old cell.
Why the tizi reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The tizi's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell. A new cell has a different internal resistance and discharge profile, so the stored curve no longer maps accurately to actual state of charge. The gauge will show percentage values that do not reflect real remaining capacity until it recalibrates. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by a complete charge to reset the reference curve.
tizi shuts off unexpectedly before the battery indicator reads empty
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the BMS protection threshold under load, even though the gauge still shows charge remaining. On a new cell, this is almost always a calibration issue — the gauge is reading from an old curve and the true voltage cliff arrives earlier than predicted. If it persists after one full calibration cycle, check that the cell connector is fully seated, as a loose contact raises effective resistance and causes premature voltage sag. After reseating, charge fully to 4.2V before the next use.

Frequently Asked Questions
The tizi powers on but shuts itself off after a short time even though the battery shows charge remaining — what's causing this?
The BMS is hitting its low-voltage cutoff under load before the fuel gauge registers empty. This is a voltage sag issue: the new cell's discharge curve hasn't been mapped yet, so the gauge is reading stale data from the old cell's profile. Run one complete discharge cycle — let the tizi run until it shuts off on its own — then charge fully. That single cycle gives the fuel gauge IC a real discharge curve to work from.
After fitting the new cell, the battery percentage on the tizi jumps around erratically rather than counting down smoothly — is the battery faulty?
Almost certainly not faulty — this is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar cell. The coulomb counter inside the tizi was trained on the degraded discharge curve of the original cell, and a new 1200mAh cell reads very differently. The erratic jumping settles after one or two full discharge-charge cycles as the IC builds a new reference map. Let it complete those cycles before drawing any conclusions about the cell's condition.
The tizi won't power on at all after the replacement cell sat in storage for several months — how do I recover it?
If the cell discharged below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS will have entered lockout mode to prevent damage, and the device will show no signs of life. Connect the tizi to a charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes without pressing any buttons — most BMS circuits on single-cell Li-ion packs include a recovery trickle that slowly raises the cell voltage back above the lockout threshold. Once the voltage crosses roughly 3.0V, the BMS re-enables discharge and the device powers on normally.
