UPCAN X3 / R2 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 14.8V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery pack for the UPCAN X3 and R2 cordless stick vacuums. It slots into the same battery bay as the original and works with the factory charger. Capacity is rated at 38.48Wh.

• X3 and R2 compatibility: Both models run the same 14.8V motor rail and use the same battery bay dimensions and connector pinout. One cell fits either unit — no adapter or modification needed.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the X3 platform. The BMS held voltage within spec under sustained suction load and triggered protection correctly when the motor was stalled.
• Dock charging habit on cordless vacuums: Do not leave the X3 sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charge on Li-ion cells accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The X3 motor draws more current when airflow is restricted — blocked filters and partial clogs both push draw above the rated operating current. When that happens, the BMS reduces output voltage before the LED indicator registers a low-battery state. The vacuum feels like it is losing power, but the cell still has charge. Clean the filter and clear any blockage first; if suction recovers immediately, the battery is not the issue.

Motor cutting out mid-session and then recovering after a short pause

This is an overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is sustained against a restriction — dense carpet pile, a near-blocked filter, or a partial clog at the nozzle — motor draw spikes and the BMS cuts the circuit to protect the cell. After a 20–30 second rest, the BMS resets and the motor runs again. Fix the airflow restriction, then verify the resting pack voltage reads above 14.0V before the next session.
