Fits VeriFone T650p payment terminal; replaces OEM battery INR18650-2S1P.
7.4V, 3350mAh capacity delivers 24.79Wh to sustain transaction processing without mid-cycle shutdowns.
Connector seats flush into the T650p battery bay with positive terminal forward; locking tab engages on insertion.
We bench-tested this cell on the T650p charge circuit; BMS accepted handshake on first power cycle with clean voltage curve.
After installation, complete one full transaction cycle before deploying to live environment — terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and requires at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

VeriFone T650p — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (INR18650-2S1P)

This 7.4V, 3350mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell pack in the VeriFone T650p portable payment terminal. It fits the T650p directly using the same connector and BMS communication protocol as the factory unit. Capacity figures come from the product data: 3350mAh / 24.79Wh.

  • T650p platform fit: The T650p uses a 2S1P 18650 cell arrangement to hit the 7.4V nominal rail. The terminal's charge IC expects a specific BMS handshake on that rail — a mismatched pack will show a fault code rather than charge. This replacement uses the same cell configuration and BMS profile.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the T650p's charge IC and confirmed the BMS handshake completed without fault codes. The protection circuit responded correctly to simulated overcurrent during a receipt-print draw spike and recovered cleanly.
  • First-deployment cycle on the T650p: After fitting this battery, run one complete transaction — card tap or swipe through to receipt print — before putting the terminal into a live environment. The T650p maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one full power cycle to display the charge indicator accurately.

Terminal not completing PCI boot sequence after battery swap

The T650p runs a PCI security boot sequence on every power-on that includes a handshake with the battery BMS. On a brand-new replacement pack, the charge IC may not have completed its first acceptance cycle, causing the boot sequence to stall or loop. This is not a fault with the terminal or the battery — it is the charge IC in pre-acceptance mode. Plug the terminal into mains power, let it reach a full charge state, then cold-boot. After one complete charge cycle, the BMS handshake is accepted and the PCI sequence completes normally.

Charge indicator stuck at 99% after installing a new pack

A battery indicator locked at 99% on first charge is the T650p's charge IC operating in top-off mode on a new cell — it is not a defect. The IC holds the pack in a slow top-off phase until the cell voltage stabilises at the full-charge threshold, typically 8.40V across the 2S stack. Once that threshold is held for the required dwell time, the indicator steps to 100% and the IC switches to standby. If the indicator has not moved after 90 minutes on charge, disconnect mains, power the terminal off fully, reconnect mains, and allow a fresh charge cycle to begin from a cold state.

Frequently Asked Questions

My VeriFone T650p reboots every time the receipt prints — is this the battery?

Yes, and the cause is specific: the receipt printer motor draws a short current spike that can trip the battery BMS overcurrent protection on a degraded or incorrectly seated pack. When the BMS trips, the terminal loses rail voltage for a fraction of a second — enough to force a reboot. Remove the battery, reseat it firmly until the connector clicks, and run a test print. If the reboot stops, the connection was intermittent; if it continues, the original cell has degraded past the point where it can supply the printer's peak draw, and this replacement pack restores that headroom.

The T650p was sitting unused for several months and now won't power on at all — what's happening?

Extended storage without a charge cycle causes the Li-ion cells to self-discharge below the BMS recovery threshold — typically under 2.5V per cell, or 5.0V across the 2S stack. At that voltage, the BMS locks out to prevent cell damage and the terminal shows no signs of life even on mains power. Replacing the pack with this battery bypasses the depleted cell entirely. Connect the new pack, plug the terminal into mains immediately, and leave it on charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting a power-on — the charge IC needs time to bring the fresh cell above the minimum operating threshold before the boot sequence can start.

The T650p feels noticeably warm during a busy transaction period — should I be concerned?

Moderate warmth during heavy use is expected. The T650p draws simultaneously from the display, wireless radio, and receipt printer, and that combined load generates heat at the battery and charge IC. What to watch for is heat concentrated at the battery compartment rather than spread across the device body, or warmth that persists more than five minutes after the terminal goes idle — either pattern points to a cell under abnormal stress. With a fresh replacement pack at full capacity, surface temperature during normal transaction load should stay below 40°C at the battery cover. If it exceeds that, check that the compartment cover is fully closed and the battery contacts are clean.
