Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Worx Landroid S300 / S450i / S500i — 20V Li-ion Replacement Battery (WA3230)
This 20V Li-ion battery at 3400mAh (68Wh) replaces the WA3230 in the Worx Landroid S Basic, S300, S450i, S500i, and over 29 additional Landroid models. It slots into the same bay and mates with the same contacts as the original pack. Voltage and connector match the OEM spec exactly.
- Landroid S-series platform fit: These models share a common 20V battery bay, contact layout, and BMS communication protocol. The WA3230, 50032492, WA3231, and 50032774 part numbers all reference the same form factor — this battery covers all of them.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the Landroid charge-discharge cycle on the OEM base station. The BMS accepted the charger handshake without faults and held voltage within spec across a full discharge sequence under simulated blade load.
- Seasonal storage tip: Before your first mow of the season, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a cold pack before it ever reaches the lawn.
BMS cutoff on thick-grass or wet-grass blade load
The Landroid blade motor draws a sharp inrush current each time it bites into dense or wet grass. If that spike exceeds the BMS overcurrent threshold — typically 15–20A on this platform — the pack shuts down as a protection response. This is not a battery fault; it is the BMS doing exactly what it should. A new pack may trip more readily in the first few cycles until the cells condition and internal resistance settles. If cutouts persist past the fifth cycle, check that the blade disc is sharp and seated correctly, since a dragging blade multiplies the current draw.
Charger shows fault light after mower sat unused all winter
A Landroid battery that sat discharged through winter can drop below the BMS acceptance voltage — often under 14V on a 20V pack — and the OEM charger will refuse to engage, showing a red or flashing fault indicator. The fix is to place the pack on the charger and wait up to 30 minutes; some chargers trickle a recovery current before switching to full charge mode. If the charger does not respond at all after 30 minutes, the cells have likely self-discharged below the recovery threshold. To avoid this next season, store the pack at around 50% charge and recheck voltage every two months — target above 16V on a 20V pack going into storage.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Landroid cuts out halfway across the lawn then restarts on its own — what's happening?
This is thermal protection triggering, not a faulty battery. The blade motor builds heat under sustained load — particularly in long grass or damp conditions — and the BMS shuts the pack down to prevent cell damage, then recovers once temperature drops. Allow a 5-minute cooldown before restarting. If it happens repeatedly on the same section, lower your mowing schedule frequency until the grass height stays manageable between runs.
The new battery feels noticeably warmer than my old pack during the first few charges — is something wrong?
New Li-ion cells run warmer for the first 3–5 charge-discharge cycles while the electrolyte fully wets the electrode surfaces and internal resistance stabilises. Warmth at the end of a mow or charge cycle is normal at this stage. What to watch for is heat you cannot hold your hand near, or the charger cutting off early — those would indicate a real issue. After five full cycles, surface temperature should settle to roughly the same level as a healthy original pack.
My Landroid's mowing run is noticeably shorter on cold mornings compared to warmer afternoons — is the battery defective?
It is not defective — Li-ion cells lose usable capacity when temperatures drop below 10°C because internal resistance rises and the cells cannot deliver full current. The effect is temporary; capacity returns as the pack warms up during operation. On cold mornings, bring the battery indoors for an hour before mowing to pre-warm the cells. At 10°C and below, expect a capacity reduction of roughly 15–20% compared to performance at 20°C.
