This 3.7V, 3350mAh Li-ion cell replaces the factory battery in the Zebra PS20 and PS20J handheld barcode scanners. It fits the compact palm-form-factor device used in retail, warehouse, and field data collection workflows. Voltage and capacity match OEM spec exactly — 3.7V, 3350mAh (12.4Wh).

Cradle charging error on a new PS20 battery pack

The PS20 cradle reads pack state through spring-loaded dock contacts on the battery base. Oxidation or shipping residue on those contacts raises resistance enough for the dock to report a charging fault before the charge cycle even starts. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and cradle insert with a dry cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly until the dock LED changes state. If the error clears, the cell was never the problem — contact resistance was.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

During a rapid scan sequence, the PS20 pulls current from two sources simultaneously — the 2D imager and the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth radio. That combined inrush can cause a momentary voltage sag on an aged or deeply discharged cell, dropping below the radio module's minimum operating threshold and forcing a reconnect. A fresh, fully charged pack delivers enough headroom to sustain both loads without the sag. If drop-outs persist after a full charge, check the wireless polling interval in the scanner's device settings before assuming a battery fault.
