  • CC9373 / CC5061 / CC5214 platform fitment: These models share the same 14.8V four-cell battery architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single replacement cell covers the full range. Swapping between models in this family does not require a firmware change.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge, discharge, and load cycles on a CC9373 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, communicated state-of-charge correctly to the OS, and held voltage within spec under sustained CPU and display load.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after install

The Cybercom BIOS reads health data from EEPROM embedded in the battery pack. When a new cell arrives, that EEPROM carries factory baseline data that does not yet match the laptop's charge history. The BIOS interprets the mismatch as degraded health and flags it immediately. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by a complete uninterrupted charge cycle gives the firmware enough data to recalibrate and clear the flag.

Laptop shuts down abruptly at 25–30% shown on screen

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. Under full CPU plus display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC can track — the system hits the low-voltage cutoff while the OS still shows 25–30% remaining. The fuel gauge IC needs two to three full calibration cycles against the new cell before its readings align with actual cell voltage. Run complete discharge and charge cycles without interruption, and the shutdown threshold will shift to match real cell state.

My Cybercom CC9373 shows the battery as "0% available (plugged in, not charging)" right after fitting the new cell — what's happening?

This is an EEPROM communication issue between the new cell and the BIOS. The laptop's firmware reads charge state from the battery's embedded EEPROM, and on a fresh cell that data hasn't synced with the system yet. Unplug the AC adapter, let the laptop run on battery until it hibernates from low voltage, then plug in and charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one full cycle the BIOS recognises the cell and the charge indicator returns to normal.

The fuel gauge on my CC9373 is jumping around — shows 60%, then 80%, then drops to 40% within minutes. Is the replacement cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on this platform needs calibration cycles against a new cell's actual discharge curve before its estimates stabilise. The old cell's curve was stored in the IC's memory, and the new cell discharges slightly differently. Run two to three complete discharge-to-hibernate and full-charge cycles without interrupting them mid-way. By the third cycle the fuel gauge readings will track consistently against actual cell voltage.

Windows shows this replacement battery as 45Wh but the spec says 65.12Wh — which number is correct?

The lower Wh figure in Windows is being read from the EEPROM's rated design capacity field, which reflects the original factory cell's nominal value rather than this replacement cell's actual chemistry. The physical cell in this pack is rated at 65.12Wh. After the BIOS battery learn cycle completes — one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, one uninterrupted charge to 100% — the reported Wh value will update to reflect the actual cell capacity.
