Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AEG 900273716 / AG3013 Series — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (VBHC7787E)
This is an 18V Li-ion battery rated at 2500mAh (45Wh), built to fit AEG cordless stick and handheld vacuum cleaners including the 900273716, 900273717, AG3013, and AG18 Plus series. It replaces OEM part VBHC7787E and cross-references 8087979053, 809115702, and related AEG part numbers. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds enough charge to complete a cleaning session.
- 900273716 and AG-series platform fit: These AEG vacuums share a common 18V bus, BMS handshake protocol, and battery connector across the 900273716, 900273717, AG3013, and AG18 Plus range — one cell format covers the group.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under sustained suction load and confirmed the BMS holds the 18V rail steady through normal carpet and hard-floor draw cycles without tripping an overcurrent cutoff.
- Dock charging discipline for AEG stick vacuums: Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock permanently. AEG cordless vacuums left on continuous dock charge develop capacity fade significantly faster than those charged only when depleted. Charge to full and remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor draws more current than the BMS expects — usually because a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder. The BMS reads the elevated draw as a low-voltage condition and begins throttling output before the indicator has a chance to catch up. The fix is filter-side, not battery-side: clean or replace the filter and the voltage sag disappears. If the problem continues on a clean filter, check the cell voltage at rest — a healthy cell should sit at or above 20V fully charged.
Motor cuts out mid-use then restarts after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failed battery. It happens when sustained restricted airflow — from a clogged filter or blocked nozzle — causes the motor to spike current beyond the BMS threshold. The BMS shuts the cell off to protect it, then resets once temperature drops and current normalises. Clear the blockage at the nozzle or filter first. If the cutout persists on an unobstructed machine, measure cell voltage under load — it should not drop below 15V during normal operation.

Frequently Asked Questions
My AEG vacuum had strong suction on the old battery but this replacement feels weaker — what's happening?
The most common cause is a partially blocked filter, not the cell itself. A restricted filter forces the motor to draw above its rated current, which causes the BMS to throttle voltage output — the suction drops even though the battery indicator still shows charge. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest. If suction recovers, the cell is fine; if it doesn't, check that the battery is seating fully and the contact pins are clean.
I left my AEG on the dock overnight and now the new battery drains faster than expected — did I damage it already?
Continuous dock charging is the fastest way to degrade Li-ion cells in cordless vacuums. Trickle current from the dock stresses the cells even when they're at 100%, accelerating capacity fade over weeks. One overnight charge won't ruin the cell, but repeated overnight or multi-day dock sitting will. Charge to full, remove from the dock, and store the vacuum off the charger between uses.
The replacement battery isn't being recognised by the charger — the charge light won't come on at all.
Some AEG chargers expect a specific BMS handshake before initiating a charge cycle. If the cell has discharged below approximately 12V during storage or transit, the BMS may be in a deep-discharge protection state that the charger won't engage. Try leaving the battery connected to the charger for 10–15 minutes without interruption — some chargers will trickle-prime a low cell before switching to full charge. If the charge light still doesn't activate, verify the charger matches the 18V platform specified for this battery.
