Fits Vorwerk Kobold VR200 robotic vacuum; replaces OEM part number 20884-1.
14.4V at 6000mAh delivers the voltage and capacity this platform expects for full motor torque on carpet.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed — only one way seats.
We charged this pack on the Vorwerk dock and ran full-load cycles across hardwood and carpet; BMS remained stable with no early cutoff.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock continuously — trickle charging degrades capacity faster than charge-to-full-then-remove cycles on cordless vacuums.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vorwerk Kobold VR200 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (20884-1)

This 14.4V 6000mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Vorwerk Kobold VR200 robotic vacuum. It matches the OEM voltage rail and BMS handshake the VR200 charger expects. Capacity is rated at 86.4Wh, consistent with the factory specification.

  • VR200 platform fit: The VR200 uses a fixed-voltage 14.4V architecture with a specific BMS communication protocol. This pack carries matching part references — 20884-1 and 4NCR18650P2-C001A — so the charger dock recognises the battery and completes a full charge cycle rather than faulting out.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through dock-charge cycles on a VR200 unit and monitored BMS response at start-up, under load, and at end-of-discharge. The protection circuit handled motor start current without tripping, and the pack accepted a full charge without the dock throwing a fault LED.
  • Dock charging discipline for the VR200: Do not leave the VR200 sitting on the charging dock continuously between uses. Robotic vacuums parked on-dock permanently receive a low-level trickle that accelerates cell degradation. Charge to full, then remove from the dock if the unit will not run again for several days.

Why the VR200 loses suction before the battery indicator reads low

A partially blocked filter forces the VR200's motor to draw more current than rated to maintain airflow. That elevated draw causes voltage to sag at the cell level, so suction drops noticeably while the indicator still shows a mid-charge state. The BMS is reading cell voltage, not airflow — it won't flag a low-battery warning until the sag crosses its cutoff threshold. Clean or replace the filter first before concluding the battery is at fault.

VR200 motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a short pause

This is an overcurrent trip by the BMS, not a charge problem. When suction is restricted — blocked brush roll, clogged filter, or hair wrapped around the motor intake — current draw spikes and the BMS shuts the pack down to protect the cells. The unit recovers once the BMS resets, typically within 30–60 seconds, which is why it appears intermittent. Clear the restriction and confirm the brush roll spins freely; if the trip stops occurring, the battery was not the cause.

Frequently Asked Questions

My VR200 seems to run for a much shorter time than it used to, even with a brand-new battery — what's causing that?

A partially blocked filter is the most common cause. When airflow is restricted, the motor draws more current than the battery is rated to supply continuously, burning through charge faster than the original spec. Clean the filter thoroughly and check the brush roll for hair or debris before assuming the battery is underperforming. If runtime improves after clearing the blockage, the filter was the problem — not the cell.

The VR200 docks, the charge light comes on briefly, then goes out — the battery never reaches full charge. Why?

The VR200 charger runs a BMS handshake before committing to a full charge cycle. If the replacement pack's BMS does not respond with the expected signal, the dock faults and stops charging early. Verify the part number on the pack matches 20884-1 or 4NCR18650P2-C001A. If the part number is correct, clean the dock contacts and the battery terminals with a dry cloth, then reseat the unit firmly — poor contact at the gold pins interrupts the handshake.

My VR200's battery capacity seemed fine at first but has dropped noticeably after a few months — is this normal?

It is common but avoidable, and continuous dock parking is usually the cause. Robotic vacuums left on the charging dock permanently receive a sustained low-level charge that stresses Li-ion cells over time, accelerating capacity fade. This replacement pack uses the same cell chemistry as the original, so the same behaviour applies. Charge to full, remove the unit from the dock, and only return it to charge when the battery is genuinely depleted.
