This is a 3.6V 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the AEG Junior 3000 cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. It replaces OEM part number 520104 and restores cordless cleaning function when the original cells have degraded. Capacity matches the factory specification at 10.8Wh.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator shows low

The Junior 3000 motor draws higher current when the filter is partially blocked. That extra draw pulls the cell voltage down faster than normal, causing the motor to lose speed — and suction — well before the battery indicator triggers. The indicator reads state of charge under a baseline load, not under a restricted-airflow load. Clean the filter first. If suction recovers, the battery is not the fault.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a flat battery. When suction is sustained against a blockage or a clogged filter, current through the cell spikes past the protection threshold and the BMS interrupts the circuit. A short pause lets the BMS reset and the motor restarts. Clear the filter and check the intake path for obstructions. If the cutout stops after cleaning the filter, the replacement cell is functioning correctly.

Not if the filter is clean. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which pulls down cell voltage faster and causes suction to drop early. Clean the filter and check the intake for blockages before assuming the battery is at fault. If suction holds longer after cleaning, the cell is working correctly.

The motor on my Junior 3000 keeps cutting out and restarting — what's causing it?

That is a BMS overcurrent trip. When the motor works against a restriction — blocked filter, jammed intake — current spikes and the cell's protection circuit cuts the output. It resets after a short pause, which is why the motor restarts. Clear the filter and any blockage in the airflow path, then test again. If the cutout stops, the battery is not the issue.

My Junior 3000 battery drains faster than it used to even though it's a replacement — could the charging dock be causing it?

Yes. Leaving a Ni-MH pack on the dock continuously exposes it to trickle charge, which accelerates capacity fade in compact cells like the 520104. Charge the battery fully, then remove the vacuum from the dock and store it off charge. If you consistently charge only when the vacuum is depleted, the replacement cell will hold its rated 3000mAh capacity significantly longer.
