Fits Pro modely SVC 9020 BK, SVC 9031, and SVC 9031 BK handheld vacuums; replaces CS-KSB001VX battery pack.
14.4V Ni-MH, 2000mAh capacity sustains motor power through multiple room cleanups before recharge becomes necessary.
Connector slides into the grip slot with a quarter-turn locking tab; verify the tab seats fully before operation.
We bench-tested this cell on the SVC 9020 charging dock; BMS accepted the pack without fault codes on first cycle.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock permanently — Ni-MH packs on continuous trickle charge lose capacity faster than those removed after reaching full.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pro modely SVC 9020 BK / SVC 9031 Series — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Pro modely SVC 9020 BK, SVC 9020 RD, SVC 9031, and SVC 9031 BK cordless handheld vacuums. It replaces the original cell pack that powers the vacuum motor across all standard cleaning tasks — floors, carpet, and upholstery. Capacity is 2000mAh (28.8Wh), matching the factory specification.

  • SVC 9020 and 9031 platform compatibility: Both the 9020 and 9031 variants run the same 14.4V motor rail and share the same physical battery housing dimensions (91.91 × 67.35 × 44.58mm). The cell count and pack voltage are identical across the colour variants, so one replacement covers the full range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and load discharge on a 14.4V motor draw. The BMS held within spec under sustained suction load, and cell voltage stayed balanced across the Ni-MH array through multiple cycles without premature cutoff.
  • Dock charging on Ni-MH vacuums: Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock permanently. Ni-MH cells in cordless vacuums develop capacity fade significantly faster under continuous trickle charge than cells charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

Ni-MH cells under load show a voltage curve that drops sharply when a restricted airflow path forces the motor to draw above its rated current. On the SVC 9020 and 9031, a clogged filter or partial blockage can trigger this before the indicator registers a low state. The motor pulls harder against the restriction, the cell voltage sags, and the vacuum loses suction — even though the battery still holds charge. Clear the filter and check the inlet path first; the indicator is calibrated for unobstructed draw, not restricted operation.

Motor cuts out mid-clean, then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When sustained suction restriction raises current draw past the pack's protection threshold, the BMS opens the circuit to prevent cell damage. The pack recovers once current demand drops — which is why a short pause brings the vacuum back. Check the filter and inlet for blockage before replacing the battery. If the cutout happens with a clean filter and clear airflow, measure resting pack voltage; a healthy 14.4V Ni-MH pack at full charge should read at or above 16.8V across the terminals.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SVC 9031 loses suction well before the battery light comes on — is the new battery going to fix that?

Not necessarily. On the SVC 9020 and 9031 series, the battery indicator is calibrated for normal unobstructed motor draw. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor pulls more current than rated, voltage sags under load, and suction drops — even though the pack still has charge. Check and clean the filter first. If suction holds normally with a clean filter but collapses under load, the cell pack is the likely cause and a replacement is warranted.

The vacuum cuts out after a minute of use on thick carpet, then works again if I wait — what's happening?

That's the BMS tripping on overcurrent. Heavy carpet increases suction restriction, which raises motor draw above the pack's protection threshold, and the BMS opens the circuit. It resets once current demand falls, which is why the pause brings it back. Clean the filter and clear any blockage in the inlet path first — this resolves the cutout on most units. If it still trips on a clean, unobstructed vacuum, the original cell pack has degraded below the current threshold and needs replacing.

How do I know if the battery I just installed is actually charging and not just sitting dead on the dock?

Ni-MH packs at full depletion can appear unresponsive on the charger for the first few minutes while the cells accept the initial charge current. Leave the vacuum on the dock for at least 30 minutes, then remove it and test the motor. If it still won't run, check that the dock contacts are clean and making firm contact with the battery terminals — oxidised contacts are a common cause of failed charge on these units. A fully charged 14.4V Ni-MH pack should measure at or above 16.8V across the terminals with a multimeter.
