PDA losing data after battery removal

The DP-L10 stores active data — open files, calendar entries, unsaved contacts — in SRAM that the main battery powers directly. There is no secondary backup cell in this device to bridge a swap. The moment the main cell is removed and voltage drops to zero, that RAM is wiped. Sync all data to a host computer via ActiveSync before the swap, then re-sync after the new battery is charged and the device boots.

DP-L10 not booting after new battery installation

A freshly shipped Li-ion cell often sits below the minimum voltage the DP-L10's boot sequence needs to initialise. The device may show a blank screen or power off immediately after the start button is pressed. Connect the charger for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on. If the device still won't boot, confirm charge input voltage at the port — it should be 5V DC.

Yes, and it is a known behaviour of this device. The DP-L10 keeps active data in volatile SRAM powered by the main battery — when voltage hits zero during a swap, that memory clears. The fix is to run a full ActiveSync backup to a host PC before removing the old cell, then restore after the new battery is charged. Do this before every battery swap, not after.

My DP-L10 powers on with the new battery but shuts off again within seconds — what's wrong?

The battery shipped with a partial charge, and the DP-L10 draws enough current at boot to pull the cell below the BMS cutoff threshold before the OS fully loads. Plug the device in and charge for a minimum of 30 minutes before attempting to power on. If shutdown still happens, check the charging contact pins on the device for corrosion — clean them with isopropyl alcohol and retry.

Wireless sync on the DP-L10 keeps dropping out after fitting the replacement battery — what causes that?

The DP-L10's wireless radio is voltage-sensitive and will throttle or disconnect when the cell is not at full charge. A new battery often ships below 3.5V, which is not enough to sustain the radio during a sync session. Charge fully to 4.2V before starting any wireless sync. If drops continue at full charge, check that no other applications are running in the background pulling current during the sync window.
