Fits CalAmp TTU-1200 and TTU-2800 GPS trackers replacing OEM part 1BF112-P11204730N and 1BF112-135665.
3.7V 5200mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 19.24Wh to sustain continuous GPS acquisition and position reporting in field operations.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with positive terminal facing the spring contact; locking tab seats flush without forcing.
We bench-tested this cell in a TTU-2800 unit; the BMS accepted the charge curve without fault codes and held voltage steady under active GPS and transmit loads.
After inserting this battery, power the tracker fully on outdoors and allow five to ten minutes for cold-start satellite acquisition before relying on position data.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CalAmp TTU-1200 / TTU-2800 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1BF112-P11204730N)

This 3.7V 5200mAh Li-ion cell replaces the internal battery in the CalAmp TTU-1200 and TTU-2800 GPS tracking units. Both devices are fleet management and asset tracking hardware used in vehicle and equipment monitoring. Capacity is 5200mAh (19.24Wh) — matching the original spec exactly.

  • TTU-1200 and TTU-2800 shared battery platform: Both units run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with an identical physical footprint and connector pinout. The BMS on each device uses the same voltage thresholds, so one cell covers both models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and full-load discharge on the TTU-1200 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and charge termination occurred cleanly at 4.2V.
  • Cold-start acquisition after power interruption: After fitting this battery, power the unit on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before deploying the vehicle. A full cold start after total power removal takes 5–10 minutes for first fix. Subsequent warm starts drop to under a minute once the almanac is cached.

Why the TTU-1200 shuts off without warning at low battery

The TTU-1200 uses a voltage-threshold cutoff to protect the cell from deep discharge. After a new battery is fitted, the fuel gauge IC takes several charge-discharge cycles to recalibrate its state-of-charge curve. Until it recalibrates, the device can hit the hard cutoff voltage — typically around 3.0V — before the low-battery indicator has time to alert the user. Running two full charge-discharge cycles after installation lets the gauge settle and restores accurate shutdown warnings.

GPS accuracy dropping during active tracking sessions

Some GPS tracking units reduce receiver sensitivity as battery voltage sags below a mid-range threshold — this lowers current draw but degrades positional accuracy. On the TTU platform, this shows up as increased position error or wider scatter in logged coordinates during long active tracking runs. The fix is straightforward: check that the vehicle's charging circuit is keeping the unit topped up during operation. If the unit is running purely on battery without an external charge source, expect reduced receiver performance once cell voltage drops below approximately 3.5V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TTU-1200 lost all saved configuration and route data after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The TTU-1200 holds certain volatile settings in battery-backed RAM, and a full power removal clears it. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it happens any time the battery is disconnected completely. Re-apply your configuration via the CalAmp portal or your fleet management software after the first boot following a swap.

The unit took over eight minutes to get a satellite fix after I installed the new battery — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. When power is interrupted completely, the TTU-1200 loses its cached almanac and ephemeris data and must perform a cold start. Cold starts take 5–10 minutes outdoors with clear sky view. Power the unit on in an open area before deploying the vehicle and wait for the fix to confirm — subsequent lock-ons will drop back under a minute once the almanac rebuilds.

During active vehicle tracking, the logged GPS positions are scattering more than usual — what causes that?

This happens when the TTU unit is running on battery alone without a live charge source and cell voltage sags into the lower end of its operating range. Below roughly 3.5V, the GPS receiver pulls back its sensitivity to reduce current draw, which widens positional error. Verify the unit's vehicle power connection is active and delivering charge during operation — if the hardwire connection is intact and voltage at the unit reads above 3.5V, the scatter should stop.
