Fits Cricket Crosswave and Crosswave WiFi Broadband Router, replacing the OEM 3.7V cell.
3.7V, 700mAh capacity delivers 2.59 watt-hours — sufficient for calling, messaging, and basic smartphone operation on this entry-level device.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with no locking tab; contact alignment is standard Li-ion spring-load configuration.
We bench-cycled this cell in the Crosswave platform; the BMS accepted charge without fault codes, and voltage held steady under talk-mode load.
On first use after installation, disable any fast-charge setting for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell curve before high-current charging stresses an uncalibrated BMS.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cricket Crosswave — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 700mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Cricket Crosswave smartphone. It also fits the Crosswave WiFi Broadband Router and EC5805. Swap it in when the original cell can no longer hold a charge or the phone shuts down unexpectedly under load.

  • Crosswave / EC5805 platform fit: These devices share the same battery footprint, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. One cell covers all three fit models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the Crosswave platform. The BMS accepted charge current correctly and held cutoff voltage within spec at both ends of the curve.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Crosswave after a cell swap

The Crosswave's fuel gauge IC builds its discharge model against the original cell's internal resistance profile. A new cell has a different impedance curve, so the IC misreads remaining capacity. When the modem transmits or the screen peaks in brightness, current draw spikes and the new cell's voltage drops briefly below the shutdown threshold — even though the reported percentage still looks healthy. One full discharge-charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to reset and map the new cell accurately. After that cycle, the shutdowns stop.

Phone reports wrong battery percentage after replacement

The fuel gauge IC on the Crosswave stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. Dropping in a new cell doesn't automatically clear that stored model. The result is percentage readings that jump erratically or plateau well above zero before the phone dies. Drain the battery completely until the phone powers off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. That single full cycle resets the coulomb counter to the new cell's actual capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Cricket Crosswave won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer — is the battery dead?

Most likely the BMS has locked out below 2.5V per cell after deep discharge in storage. The protection circuit cuts all output to prevent cell damage, so the phone appears completely dead. Plug into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for at least 20 minutes before attempting to power on. If the phone still won't respond, the cell has dropped below recovery threshold and needs replacement.

Fast charging stopped working on the Crosswave after I put in a new battery — why?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the USB charging IC can fail to negotiate the fast-charge protocol because it's waiting for the BMS to confirm cell state before allowing elevated current. This is normal behaviour, not a fault. Run one full standard charge cycle from flat to 100% without a fast charger. After that cycle, plug in the fast charger — the handshake completes correctly once the BMS has a confirmed baseline on the new cell.

The Crosswave gets noticeably warm near the battery compartment while charging — is that normal with a replacement cell?

A new cell starts with higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC pushes current into that higher resistance, which converts more energy to heat in the early cycles. That warmth is expected and decreases as the cell cycles in — typically within three to five full charge cycles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or shows a charging error, stop charging and check that the replacement cell dimensions match the original: 54.05 × 34.10 × 5.40mm.
