Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

EADS Cassidian TH1N — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLN-10)
This 3.7V, 1550mAh lithium-polymer pack replaces the OEM BLN-10, BLN-11, and HT9980AA batteries in the EADS Cassidian TH1N portable two-way radio. The TH1N is a slim-profile land mobile radio used by emergency services and professional field teams. Voltage and capacity figures are taken from the product data — 3.7V nominal, 5.74Wh.
- TH1N platform fit: The TH1N uses a flat Li-Polymer form factor — 74.50 x 52.10 x 6.70mm — with a specific contact arrangement that the BMS inside this pack must handshake with the radio's charge management circuit. All three OEM part numbers (BLN-10, BLN-11, HT9980AA) share this same physical and electrical interface.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through transmit load conditions on the TH1N platform and confirmed the BMS holds regulation through the current spike at PTT press — the point where most degraded packs sag and trigger low-voltage cutoff.
- First insertion on the TH1N charger dock: If the dock shows a fault LED on first insertion, remove the pack, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly — the TH1N charger requires a clean contact cycle to accept the BMS handshake before it begins charging.
Why the TH1N cuts out mid-transmission on a freshly inserted pack
A new Li-Polymer cell ships at storage voltage — typically 3.6–3.7V — not at full charge. When PTT is pressed, transmit current spikes sharply, and if the cell hasn't completed at least one full charge cycle, the BMS may interpret the sag as an undervoltage fault and cut output. This is not a faulty pack. Fully charge the battery before the first transmission shift — the dock should show green before the radio goes into service. Once the cell is at full charge voltage (around 4.2V), the BMS handles transmit spikes without interruption.
Bar indicator showing one fewer bar than expected after a full charge
The TH1N's bar indicator reads voltage thresholds — it does not track charge state the way a smartphone does. A new cell has slightly different resting voltage characteristics than a conditioned one, so the indicator can read one bar low immediately after charge. Run one or two full charge-discharge cycles and the resting voltage will stabilise. After conditioning, check resting voltage at the contacts — it should read 4.1–4.2V off charger, which maps to a full indicator on the TH1N display.

Frequently Asked Questions
My TH1N drops to low transmit power partway through a shift — is the battery failing or is this normal?
This is voltage sag under sustained RF output, not pack failure. As the cell depletes past roughly 3.5V under transmit load, the TH1N's power management steps down TX output to protect the radio. A fresh, fully charged pack will restore full TX power from the start of the shift. If sag happens within the first hour of a charged pack, check the gold contacts for corrosion and reseat the battery firmly.
The TH1N charger dock blinks a fault LED and never clears — what's causing it?
The dock rejects packs that present below its acceptance voltage threshold — typically when a cell has been stored flat for an extended period. Remove the pack, wipe the contact strip clean with a dry cloth, and reseat it. If the fault LED persists, the cell may be below the BMS recovery threshold; place the pack in the dock for 10–15 minutes regardless — some chargers will trickle-charge a deeply discharged Li-Polymer pack until it reaches the acceptance voltage and then switch to normal charge mode.
The TH1N cuts out the moment I press PTT on a pack that was sitting unused for several months — what happened?
Extended storage drives Li-Polymer cells into deep discharge. The BMS locks out to prevent damage once the cell drops below approximately 2.5V. The radio sees no usable voltage at PTT and cuts out immediately. Place the pack on the TH1N dock — if the charger accepts it, leave it on a full charge cycle before use. If the dock rejects it outright, the cell is below recovery threshold and the pack will need replacing.
