Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Emporia Pure / V25 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AK-V25)
This is a 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-ion cell that fits the Emporia Pure, V25, V25_001, and EUPHORIA handsets. It is a direct swap for the original AK-V25 cell when the existing battery no longer holds adequate charge. Voltage and cell dimensions match the OEM specification: 66.45 × 42.13 × 4.05mm.
- Pure / V25 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. The AK-V25 part number covers both the original and V2.0 revision — both use the same mechanical and electrical interface, so one cell fits all variants listed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the V25 platform. The BMS accepted the charge handshake without fault codes, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff — no thermal events during the test cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — otherwise the percentage readout will drift early.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Emporia Pure after a cell swap
This is a voltage-cliff issue, not a defective cell. The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge model it built for the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits roughly 3.6–3.7V under screen or modem load, the phone's power manager sees a voltage drop it interprets as near-empty and cuts off. One full discharge-to-low-battery-warning cycle followed by a complete charge resets the coulomb counter and maps the new cell's actual discharge curve — shutdowns at false percentages stop after that cycle.
Phone feels warm near the battery during the first charge after replacement
A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a worn cell. During the first charge cycle, the charge IC delivers current into that higher impedance, and some of the energy converts to heat rather than stored charge. This is normal for the first one or two cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If warmth continues past the second full charge cycle, check that the back cover is fully seated — a gap traps heat and prevents normal passive dissipation. Surface temperature should be below 40°C within the first 20 minutes of charging.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Emporia Pure powered off completely and now won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for a few months — is the battery dead?
The cell has most likely dropped below 2.5V during storage, triggering BMS lockout — the protection circuit disconnects the cell to prevent damage, and the phone shows no sign of life. Plug into a wall charger and leave it connected for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on; some chargers will not register a BMS-locked cell until the voltage recovers above 2.8V. If the phone still shows nothing after 30 minutes, try a different USB cable and a charger rated at 1A or higher — a low-current port may not deliver enough to wake the protection circuit.
The battery percentage on my Emporia Pure jumps around erratically after fitting this new cell — goes from 60% to 30% in minutes.
The fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve it learned from the old, degraded cell — the new cell's behaviour does not match that model, so the percentage readout skips. Run one complete cycle: drain the phone until it shuts itself off on low battery, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. That single cycle gives the coulomb counter enough data to recalibrate to the new cell, and the percentage will stabilise.
Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery in my Emporia Pure — the phone charges, but only slowly now.
The charge IC negotiates fast charge parameters at the start of each session using handshake signals from the BMS. On the first cycle with a new cell, the BMS may respond conservatively — returning values that cause the charge IC to fall back to standard 5V charging rather than accepting elevated current. Complete one full standard charge cycle to 100% first. After that cycle, the BMS updates its internal state and the fast charge handshake completes normally on the next plug-in.
