Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ETA 2442 Verto Series — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (200AAHx10)
This is a 12V 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the ETA 2442 Verto cordless vacuum cleaner, including the 2442 90000, 2442 90001, and 2442 90002 variants. It replaces the original cell pack when the vacuum no longer holds a charge or suction drops off within minutes of starting. Capacity matches the factory specification at 2000mAh (24Wh).
- 2442 Verto platform fitment: The 2442 90000, 90001, and 90002 all share the same 12V cell pack format and connector orientation. The BMS on these units communicates with the charger through the same contact arrangement, so a correctly rated replacement cell restores normal charge acceptance without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on a 2442-series unit. The BMS accepted charge normally, held voltage through the full draw cycle, and the thermal cutoff did not trip under standard operating load.
- Dock charging behaviour on Ni-MH cells: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock continuously. Ni-MH chemistry degrades noticeably faster under trickle charge than lithium cells do. Charge the pack fully, then remove the vacuum from the dock until the next use.
Cordless vacuum losing suction before battery indicator reaches low
On the 2442 Verto, suction can drop well before the battery indicator signals low charge. The most common cause is a partially blocked filter forcing the motor to draw above its rated current. The BMS reads this elevated draw as a high-load condition and reduces output voltage to protect the pack. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers and the battery indicator is still showing mid-charge, the cell is fine and the issue was restriction, not capacity.
Motor cuts out briefly then restarts during vacuuming
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the motor encounters sustained restriction — a blocked nozzle, a clogged filter, or heavy carpet fibres — current draw spikes past the BMS threshold and the pack cuts output to protect the cells. The BMS resets after a few seconds once current normalises, which is why the motor restarts on its own. Clear the blockage, confirm filter airflow is unrestricted, and the cutout should stop. If it continues with a clear filter, check cell voltage at rest — it should read at least 12.5V on a fully charged pack.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ETA 2442 Verto charges fine but suction starts weak and gets worse quickly — is the new battery faulty?
Weak suction that worsens during use usually points to a restricted filter, not a failing cell. A partially blocked filter makes the motor work harder, pulling more current than rated and causing the BMS to throttle output voltage early. Remove and clean the filter, then run the vacuum again. If suction is strong after that, the battery is working correctly.
The vacuum motor keeps cutting out and restarting every 30 seconds or so — what's causing this?
That pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip cycling on and off. On the 2442 Verto, sustained high motor current — caused by a blockage at the nozzle or a clogged filter — pushes draw past the BMS cutoff threshold, which shuts output momentarily then resets. Clear any blockage and check the filter is clean. If the cutout stops, the battery and BMS are functioning normally. If it continues with no restriction present, measure resting pack voltage — a healthy fully charged pack should read at or above 12.5V.
I've had the replacement battery for a few months and it's already losing capacity — could dock charging have damaged it?
Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade in Ni-MH packs. Ni-MH cells degrade faster under prolonged trickle charge than they do through normal use cycles. If the vacuum has been sitting on the dock between every use, the cells will have absorbed more charge stress than a pack that was removed after each full charge. Going forward, charge to full and take the vacuum off the dock — capacity loss from this point is gradual, not instant, so the remaining capacity should stabilise once the habit changes.
