Fits Rowenta RH9139WHR/2D1 and compatible stick vacuum models, replaces OEM part RS-2230001773.
18.5V 2500mAh lithium-ion delivers sustained motor power on carpet and hard floors without voltage sag under load.
Connector slides onto the dock contact block with a quarter-turn locking tab; verify alignment before seating fully.
We bench-tested this cell on the RH9139 platform — BMS accepted the handshake on first dock insertion, no fault codes.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock continuously; cordless vacuum packs on perpetual trickle charge lose capacity rapidly — charge to full and remove.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rowenta RH9139WHR/2D1 Series — 18.5V Li-ion Replacement Battery (RS-2230001773)

This is an 18.5V 2500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Rowenta cordless stick vacuum range. It fits the RH9139WHR/2D1 and over 30 related models in the same platform, including the RH9174WO/2D1, RH9158WO/2D1, and RH9174WO/2D0. Swapping this battery brings a degraded vacuum back to full motor power without replacing the entire unit.

  • RH91 platform compatibility: These models share the same 18.5V voltage rail, battery connector, and BMS communication protocol. The RS-2230001773 part number covers the full group — the BMS handshake is identical across all variants listed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge-discharge cycles on the RH91 platform and monitored BMS response under sustained suction load. The protection circuit held cutoff at the correct threshold with no spurious trips during normal use.
  • Dock charging habit on this vacuum: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock continuously. The RH91 series does not interrupt trickle current once full, so cells left docked for days accumulate heat stress and lose capacity faster. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor draws more current than the battery can sustain under partial load — usually caused by a restricted filter rather than a failing battery. A blocked filter raises motor draw, which pulls the cell voltage down early and triggers the BMS to reduce output before the charge gauge catches up. Clean or replace the filter first and retest. If suction still drops on a clean filter, the battery cell capacity has degraded and replacement is the correct fix.

Motor cutting out mid-clean then recovering after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a wiring fault. When suction is restricted — usually a full dust cup or blocked cyclone — the motor works harder and current spikes above the BMS cutoff threshold. The BMS shuts output off to protect the cell, then resets once current drops. Empty the dust cup, check the cyclone mesh for debris, and confirm the filter is clear. If the cutout continues on a clean vacuum with a new battery, check that the battery terminal contacts on the vacuum body are clean and making full contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Rowenta stick vacuum shows a full charge but loses strong suction within a couple of minutes — is the battery the problem?

Not necessarily the battery alone. A restricted filter forces the motor to draw above its rated current, which drags cell voltage down faster than the charge indicator can reflect. Clean the foam and HEPA filters first — if suction holds after that, the battery was fine. If the problem continues on clean filters with a new battery installed, check that the battery terminals are seating fully in the vacuum body.

The vacuum cuts out completely for a few seconds while I'm cleaning, then comes back on by itself — what's causing that?

That's the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, then auto-resetting once the load drops. It's triggered when the motor is working against a blockage — usually a full dust cup, packed cyclone mesh, or clogged post-filter. Empty the dust cup, clear the cyclone, and check every filter stage. If the cutout stops after clearing those, the cell is working correctly; the BMS was doing its job.

The replacement battery charges fine but the vacuum runs noticeably shorter than it used to on the original cell — what degrades that fast?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause on this platform. The RH91 charger does not stop trickle current once full, so cells left docked for extended periods accumulate heat stress and lose usable capacity faster than cells charged only when depleted. With the new battery, charge to full and remove it from the dock each time. Capacity will stabilise at a higher level than a continuously docked cell tested at the same age.
