Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ETA 5442 Verto — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ETA544200090)
This is a 14.8V, 2600mAh lithium-ion battery that replaces part number ETA544200090 in the ETA 5442 Verto cordless vacuum cleaner. It slots into the same position as the original and connects to the same BMS interface. Capacity matches the factory specification at 38.48Wh.
- 5442 Verto fit: The Verto platform runs a 14.8V four-cell Li-ion pack with a specific connector orientation and BMS handshake. This replacement matches that cell configuration, so the vacuum's power management circuit recognises the pack and allows normal charge and discharge cycles.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the pack through charge and discharge cycles on the 5442 Verto platform. The BMS negotiated correctly on first contact — no error state, no charging refusal. Discharge curve held steady across the usable voltage window before the BMS stepped down the output near end-of-charge.
- Dock charging on the Verto: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock between uses. The Verto's dock applies a continuous trickle once the pack is full, and repeated trickle exposure degrades cell capacity faster than normal cycle use. Charge to full, then remove it from the dock.
Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor is drawing more current than the BMS's steady-state threshold — usually caused by a partially blocked filter, not a failing battery. A restricted airpath forces the motor to work harder, pulling extra current and causing the BMS to throttle output voltage before the cell is actually depleted. The result looks like a battery problem but the cell still has charge. Clear the filter first, then retest under the same carpet load.
Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is blocked — blocked nozzle, full dustbin, or clogged HEPA filter — the motor sustains a high-draw state that crosses the pack's overcurrent threshold. The BMS disconnects the output to protect the cells, then resets after the internal temperature drops. Fix the blockage, check the filter is seated correctly, and restart. If the trip happens immediately on a clear nozzle, measure pack voltage at rest — it should read above 15.5V on a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ETA Verto suction has got noticeably weaker but the battery indicator still shows plenty of charge — what's happening?
A partially blocked filter is the most common cause. When airflow is restricted, the motor pulls more current than rated, and the BMS reduces output to stay within the cell's safe discharge limit — suction drops even though charge remains. Remove and clean the filter, then empty the dustbin before retesting. If suction restores after that, the battery was never the issue.
The Verto motor cuts out after about 30 seconds on thick carpet, then works again after I set it down — is that a battery fault?
That's a BMS overcurrent trip triggered by sustained high motor load, not a faulty cell. Thick carpet or a partially blocked nozzle pushes motor current above the pack's trip threshold, so the BMS disconnects the output to protect the cells and resets once current demand drops. Check the nozzle for hair wrap and confirm the filter is clean before assuming the battery needs replacing. If it still trips on a clear nozzle, check resting voltage — a healthy full pack should read 16.6–16.8V across the terminals.
We left the ETA Verto on the charging dock permanently and now the battery drains much faster than it used to — can this replacement fix that?
Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of accelerated capacity fade in cordless vacuums. Once the pack reaches full charge, the dock maintains a trickle current that stresses the cells over time, permanently reducing how much charge they can hold. A fresh replacement cell will restore capacity, but the same fade will return if the dock habit continues — charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock. Store it off the dock between uses.
