Fits Garmin inReach Mini (010-01879-00) and inReach Mini 2 (010-02602-01), replaces OEM part 361-00114-00.
3.7V at 950mAh capacity delivers the same energy window as the original cell for full field messaging and GPS navigation cycles.
Connector seats into the battery slot behind the display panel with a single friction lock tab; alignment is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We ran this cell through five charge cycles on a bench Garmin charger cradle; the BMS powered up clean with no voltage regulation drift.
After installing this cell, power on the inReach outdoors and wait 5-10 minutes for first satellite lock before relying on position data — GPS performs a cold start after full power removal.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Garmin inReach Mini — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (361-00114-00)

This 3.7V, 950mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Garmin inReach Mini and inReach Mini 2 satellite communicators. It fits models 010-01879-00 and 010-02602-01 — the compact two-way satellite messaging and GPS tracking units. Dimensions are 39.20 × 29.42 × 9.10mm, matching the original cell footprint.

  • inReach Mini and Mini 2 fitment: Both generations share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. One cell covers both devices without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the inReach Mini platform. The BMS responded correctly to charge termination and low-voltage cutoff at the expected thresholds.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after swap: After fitting this cell, power the device on outdoors and let it acquire a satellite fix before heading into the field. A full power interruption clears the ephemeris cache, so the first fix after a battery swap can take 5–10 minutes. Subsequent locks come in under a minute once the cache rebuilds.

Why the inReach Mini shuts off without warning at low battery

A fresh replacement cell and an aged original cell do not share the same discharge curve. The battery indicator is calibrated against the original cell's curve, so a new cell can read higher than its true remaining capacity — then drop the final percentage points quickly. The device hits its low-voltage cutoff threshold before the on-screen warning has time to register visually. This is not a fault in the replacement cell. After two or three full charge cycles, the indicator recalibrates and the warning reappears at the correct point. Watch for the indicator dropping past 20% as your trigger to find shelter or activate a tracking send.

inReach Mini draining faster during active satellite navigation than in standby

The inReach Mini draws from two separate power loads simultaneously during active navigation: the GPS receiver and the display backlight. In standby or tracking-only mode, the display dims and the GPS polls at longer intervals. Switch the display to the lowest usable brightness setting and increase the track log interval in the device settings to reduce continuous GPS polling. At the device's full navigation load, the 950mAh cell works harder than in standby — that gap in drain rate is normal and not a sign of a faulty battery.

Frequently Asked Questions

My inReach Mini lost all my saved routes and contacts after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The inReach Mini stores some data in battery-backed RAM, and a full power removal during a swap can clear it. Before pulling the old cell, sync the device with the Garmin Explore app or web portal — that backs up your messages, routes, and contacts to the cloud. After the swap, a re-sync restores them. This is a data management step, not a fault with the replacement cell.

Satellite lock is taking 8 minutes after fitting the new battery — it used to lock in seconds. What happened?

A full power interruption flushes the ephemeris cache — the stored satellite position data the device uses to lock quickly. Without that cache, the unit has to download current satellite positions from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes on a cold start. This is expected after any battery swap. Step outside with a clear view of the sky, leave the device powered on, and let it complete one full acquisition. Every lock after that will return to under a minute.

The inReach Mini shows 30% battery but cuts off mid-use without any low-battery warning. What's causing it?

The battery percentage indicator is calibrated against the discharge curve of the original factory cell. A replacement cell has a slightly different curve, so the indicator reads incorrectly until it recalibrates through full cycles. The device hits its hardware low-voltage cutoff at 3.0V before the visual warning catches up. Run two or three complete charge-to-discharge cycles and the indicator will re-align with the actual cell. After that, the low-battery alert will reappear at the correct threshold.
