Fits Garmin VIRB, VIRB Elite action cameras; replaces OEM part 010-11599-00 and 010-11654-03.
3.7V, 2200mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 8.14Wh for extended HD video recording on compact wearables.
Connector seats vertically into camera battery slot with positive contact facing the spring terminal.
We tested the cell on a VIRB Elite body; BMS accepted the pack after first charge cycle completed inside the camera.
On first install, charge fully inside the camera body itself—the Garmin BMS requires one internal charge cycle to map battery-remaining display accurately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Garmin VIRB / VIRB Elite — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (010-11599-00)

This 3.7V, 2200mAh Li-ion cell replaces the OEM battery in the Garmin VIRB and VIRB Elite action cameras. It fits the VIRB Elite Action HD Camera 1.4 and E1GR alongside three additional VIRB variants sharing the same connector and BMS profile. Dimensions are 53.35 × 34.40 × 11.00mm — verify against your existing cell before installing.

  • VIRB and VIRB Elite platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V rail, and OEM BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the VIRB Elite body under continuous HD recording load. The BMS held steady voltage delivery across the full discharge curve with no mid-session cutoff events.
  • First charge protocol for VIRB cameras: Insert the new cell and charge it fully through the camera body before your first shoot. The VIRB's battery-remaining display calibrates to the cell's discharge curve during this first in-body charge cycle — skipping it can cause the indicator to read inaccurately for several sessions.

Why the VIRB Elite battery indicator jumps or reads 100% then drops suddenly

The VIRB Elite maps battery percentage against voltage thresholds calibrated to the OEM cell's discharge curve. A new third-party cell has a slightly different curve — it holds voltage higher for longer, then drops faster near the end of discharge. The camera's fuel gauge interprets this as erratic capacity. Run two to three full charge and discharge cycles through the camera body and the indicator will stabilise as the BMS learns the new cell's behaviour.

VIRB displaying no battery or refusing to power on after replacement cell is inserted

This happens when the cell arrives slightly below the VIRB's minimum BMS acceptance voltage — typically under 3.0V — after shipping or storage. The camera sees the low state of charge as an invalid or missing cell and blocks startup. Place the battery in an external Li-ion charger first and bring it to at least 3.6V, then reinsert it into the camera body. At that voltage the BMS accepts the cell and normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My VIRB Elite shows "no battery" right after I put in the new cell — is the replacement faulty?

Not necessarily. Replacement cells sometimes arrive below 3.0V after storage or transit, and the VIRB Elite's BMS refuses to recognise anything that low as a valid battery. Charge the cell in an external Li-ion charger until it reaches at least 3.6V, then reinsert it into the camera body. At that point the camera will accept it and begin charging normally.

The battery percentage on my VIRB jumps around — it reads 80%, then skips to 20% within a few minutes of recording.

The VIRB maps percentage to specific voltage thresholds tuned to the original OEM cell. A replacement cell holds voltage higher across most of its discharge range, then drops more steeply at the end — the camera's fuel gauge misreads this as erratic capacity. Run two to three complete charge and discharge cycles through the camera body. The indicator stabilises once the BMS has enough data from the new cell's actual discharge curve.

My VIRB Elite runs noticeably shorter between charges in cold weather — is the cell defective?

Li-ion cells lose usable capacity as temperature drops — internal resistance rises and the BMS trips the low-voltage cutoff earlier than it would at room temperature. At 0°C a 2200mAh cell can deliver noticeably less charge than its rated capacity, and the VIRB Elite's continuous video draw accelerates this. Keep a spare cell in an inside pocket to maintain its temperature, and swap batteries rather than pushing a cold cell to full depletion. Letting a deeply discharged cold cell warm to room temperature before recharging protects the cell's long-term capacity.
