Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LXE MX6 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (200-00591-01)

This is a 7.4V, 2200mAh Li-ion battery for the LXE MX6 handheld barcode scanner. It fits MX6 units used across warehouse, retail, and logistics environments. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec — 16.28Wh total energy.

  • MX6 platform fit: The MX6 runs a single-cell-equivalent 7.4V rail with a proprietary BMS handshake. This pack carries OEM part numbers 200-00591-01 and 20000591-01, which the MX6 firmware recognises — no charge rejection on the dock.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through scan-burst loads and wireless polling draws simultaneously. The BMS held the output rail steady through combined inrush events and did not trip on cold-start trigger pulls.
  • First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before starting a pick-and-pack shift. Scan trigger inrush is highest when the cell is near minimum voltage — a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Cradle showing charging error on a new MX6 pack

A charging error on a new pack is almost always a contact resistance issue, not a battery fault. The MX6 cradle uses spring-loaded contacts that pick up dust and oxidation in warehouse environments. Wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the cradle with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly. If the error clears, the pack was not the problem — the dock contacts were.

MX6 dropping wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The MX6 draws from the battery on two simultaneous loads — the wireless radio and the scan trigger. During fast scanning, the combined inrush can cause a brief voltage sag that the radio interprets as a brownout and drops the connection. This happens most often when the battery is below 20% charge. Keep the pack above that threshold during high-volume shifts, or swap to a fresh pack before the gauge drops low. A resting voltage of 7.2V or above at the pack terminals confirms usable charge remains.

Frequently Asked Questions

The MX6 scanner won't read barcodes after I swapped in a new battery — what's wrong?

The laser or imager on the MX6 needs the voltage rail to be above minimum before it fires at full power — installing a pack that shipped partially discharged can cause weak or failed reads right away. Seat the new battery in the cradle and run a full charge cycle before putting the unit into service. Once fully charged, the scan engine gets the current it needs on trigger pull. If reads fail after a full charge, check the window for smearing — that's a separate issue from the battery.

My MX6 runs noticeably shorter shifts than it did with the previous battery — same model, same tasks.

Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval both affect how fast the pack depletes, and warehouse environments often increase both over time as SKU volumes grow. Check whether the scan trigger is being held down continuously rather than pulsed — sustained laser or imager draw is significantly higher than burst draw. Also confirm the wireless polling rate hasn't been adjusted in device settings, as a tighter polling interval increases radio draw. If usage patterns haven't changed and endurance is still short, cycle the pack fully twice before drawing conclusions — new Li-ion cells can need two full charge-discharge cycles to reach rated capacity.

The MX6 gets noticeably warm during extended shifts — is that a battery problem?

Heat buildup on the MX6 during long shifts is mostly a housing issue — the scanner's enclosed plastic body traps heat from both the wireless radio and the scan engine running in parallel. The battery itself generates some heat during sustained discharge, which is normal for Li-ion under combined load. If the unit becomes too hot to hold comfortably, that's a sign of sustained high draw and the pack is likely below 3.5V per cell — swap it out at that point. Check that the battery contacts are clean and seated fully, as contact resistance adds heat at the pack interface.
