Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hisense U8 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LI37163A)
This is a 3.7V, 1700mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the Hisense U8 and compatible models including the T92, T96, and E920. It replaces OEM part LI37163A when the original cell degrades or fails. The battery restores normal operation for calls, messaging, and apps on devices where the original cell no longer holds a usable charge.
- U8, T92, T96, E920 compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions and connector pinout, and use the same LI37163A cell spec — 58.90 × 46.10 × 5.10mm with a matched 3.7V voltage rail and BMS communication protocol.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the U8 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the charge IC handed off to trickle correctly at the top of the curve.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one full discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Hisense U8 after a cell swap
The Hisense U8 fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve from the old cell in its coulomb counter after a swap. When the new cell hits a voltage point the IC hasn't mapped yet, it can read 25% remaining while the cell is actually near its cutoff floor. Under screen-on or modem load, the cell voltage drops sharply, crosses the hardware cutoff threshold, and the phone shuts down instantly. One full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle resets the fuel gauge IC against the new cell's actual curve and eliminates most sudden-shutdown events.
Phone won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent damage — the phone shows nothing when you press the power button. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell at a low rate until voltage climbs above the BMS recovery threshold, at which point normal charging resumes. If the screen still shows no charging indicator after 45 minutes, verify the cable and adapter are delivering at least 5V before assuming cell failure.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Hisense U8 percentage keeps jumping around after I put in the new battery — is something wrong with the cell?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC on the U8 is still running the discharge curve it learned from the old battery, so it misreads the new cell's state of charge and the percentage jumps as it tries to reconcile real voltage with its stored model. Run one full uninterrupted discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. That single cycle gives the coulomb counter enough data to recalibrate against the new cell, and the percentage readout stabilises.
Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my Hisense U8 — it only charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the U8 may not negotiate the fast-charge protocol with a new, uncalibrated cell — it defaults to a lower current rate as a precaution. This is normal behaviour, not a fault in the replacement cell. Complete one full standard-rate charge cycle first. After that cycle, fast charging typically re-engages on subsequent charges as the BMS confirms the cell is within expected parameters.
My Hisense U8 gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges after the swap — should I stop charging?
Mild warmth on the first one or two charges is expected. A new cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a conditioned cell, so the charge IC dissipates a little more energy as heat while current flows into it. The temperature should stay well below uncomfortable-to-touch. If the phone becomes hot to hold or the charger disconnects on its own, stop the charge and let the phone cool to room temperature before trying again on a different cable and a 5V/1A adapter rather than a fast charger.
