Fits Vodafone Smart Turbo 7, VFD 500, V500 smartphones. Replaces OEM part TLi020F1.
This 3.8V lithium-ion cell delivers 2000mAh capacity for full-day calling, messaging, and app use.
Connector type is a two-pin contact interface with alignment posts; seats flush into the battery slot.
We bench-tested the TLi020F1 against a depleted original. BMS accepted charge current without fault codes on cycle one.
On first charge after installation, run one complete discharge without fast charging — this recalibrates the fuel gauge IC to the new cell's voltage curve before the OS reports accurate percentage.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vodafone Smart Turbo 7 / VFD 500 — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TLi020F1)

This is a 3.8V, 2000mAh (7.6Wh) Li-ion cell built to replace the original TLi020F1 battery in the Vodafone Smart Turbo 7, VFD 500, and V500. It fits phones where the original cell no longer holds voltage under screen or modem load. Dimensions are 70.75 × 51.20 × 4.70mm — measure your original before ordering if unsure.

  • Smart Turbo 7 / VFD 500 platform fit: All three model variants — Smart Turbo 7, VFD 500, and V500 — share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol, which is why a single TLi020F1 cell covers the whole family.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, screen-on load, and modem-active draw. The BMS held the 3.8V nominal rail without tripping into protection mode under combined screen and data load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% uninterrupted. This lets the phone's fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before reporting accurate percentages.

Why the Smart Turbo 7 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The phone uses a coulomb counter in the fuel gauge IC that was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve over hundreds of cycles. Swap in a new cell and that stored curve no longer matches actual cell behaviour — the IC is still using the degraded profile. This causes the percentage display to jump or read higher than reality until the system relearns. One complete discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the IC to rebuild its reference curve against the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under modem or display load — a voltage cliff the fuel gauge IC did not anticipate because it hasn't finished recalibrating. The BMS trips to protect the cell before the percentage counter reaches zero. It is not a faulty cell. Let the phone shut down naturally at that point, then charge fully without interruption. After two full cycles the IC will have enough data to predict the voltage cliff accurately and the shutdowns will stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Vodafone Smart Turbo 7 won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for months — is the new battery dead?

If the original cell sat discharged for a long time, the BMS may have locked out below 2.5V per cell to prevent damage — and the phone simply won't respond. Fit the replacement cell and plug into a wall charger, not a USB port, for at least 20 minutes before pressing the power button. The charge IC needs a trickle current phase to bring the new cell up above the BMS unlock threshold before normal boot is possible. If the phone still doesn't respond after 30 minutes on charge, check that the connector is fully seated and the charger is supplying at least 5V 1A.

Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the replacement TLi020F1 — the phone just charges slowly now.

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the phone's charge controller sometimes defaults to standard 5V charging rather than accepting the higher-voltage fast-charge handshake. This is the BMS and fuel gauge IC operating cautiously on an uncalibrated cell. Complete one full standard-rate charge to 100%, let the phone sit at full charge for five minutes, then unplug and replug the charger — fast charging typically re-enables on the second cycle once the IC has logged initial cell data.

The battery percentage on my VFD 500 jumps around erratically — it shows 60%, then suddenly drops to 35% without warning.

Erratic percentage jumps are the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a cell whose discharge curve it doesn't yet recognise. The coulomb counter is interpolating from an old, degraded reference profile and losing accuracy mid-discharge. Run two complete cycles — discharge to automatic shutdown each time, then charge to 100% without interruption. After the second full cycle, the IC will have built a new discharge map for the TLi020F1 cell and percentage reporting will stabilise.
