Fits TCL J720, J726T, J738M, J730U and five additional TCL models; replaces OEM part numbers TLi019B2, TLi020F1, TLi020G1, TLi020FA.
3.8V 2000mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 7.6Wh; enough for a full day on standby or moderate mixed use before the fuel gauge IC drops below 5%.
Connector slides into the battery slot with the contact pins facing the device; locking tab seats flush — no force needed on insertion.
We ran discharge curves on a J726T at 500mA constant draw; BMS engaged soft cutoff at 3.0V per the TCL platform standard without voltage sag.
On first charge after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TCL J720 / J726T Series — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TLi019B2)

This is a 3.8V, 2000mAh (7.6Wh) Li-ion cell sourced as a direct replacement for the TCL J720, J726T, J738M, J730U, and compatible variants. It fits the internal battery slot using the same connector and cell dimensions (70.75 × 51.20 × 4.70mm) as the original TLi019B2. If the original cell is swelling, failing to hold charge, or dropping off quickly under load, this is the cell to replace it with.

  • J720 / J726T series fitment: These models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full compatibility range listed — no adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on compatible hardware. The BMS accepted charge from both standard 5V and the device's native charge IC without triggering fault flags or thermal cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This allows the fuel gauge IC to map the new cell's discharge curve before the charge IC begins pushing higher current into it.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the TCL J720 after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. When the modem radio or display fires a high-draw burst, the new cell's voltage drops momentarily below the BMS cutoff threshold — even though the OS gauge still reads 20–30%. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's internal resistance curve, so its percentage estimate is off. Run one full discharge cycle down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption — this resets the coulomb counter against the new cell's actual curve.

OS battery percentage jumping erratically after replacement

The Android fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge model from the previous cell. When a new cell goes in, the stored model no longer matches actual cell behaviour, so percentage readings jump or stall at fixed points. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is the coulomb counter recalibrating. Let the phone discharge to auto-shutdown naturally, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. Most TCL devices stabilise the percentage readout within two full cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TCL J720 keeps shutting off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?

Almost certainly not. The fuel gauge IC in the J720 is still using the discharge curve it learned from the old cell, so its percentage estimate doesn't match the new cell's actual voltage behaviour. Under a sudden load spike — modem transmission or display brightness jump — the cell voltage dips below BMS cutoff before the OS gauge catches up. Run one full uninterrupted discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100%. That resets the coulomb counter and the shutdowns should stop.

Fast charging stopped working on my J720 right after I swapped the battery — what's happening?

On the first cycle after installation, some BMS units in replacement cells don't immediately respond to the device's proprietary charge protocol handshake. The charge IC falls back to standard 5V/1A as a precaution. Run one full standard charge cycle to 100% first. On the second cycle, the charge IC re-negotiates the protocol and fast charging typically re-enables without any settings change.

The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few weeks — is it dead?

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent damage. Connect the phone to the original charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on — the charge IC needs to trickle charge the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold before it will release. Once the charging LED activates or the boot screen appears, the cell is recovering normally.
