Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel One Touch Pop C7 / OT-7040 Series — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TLi020F1)
This is a 3.8V, 2000mAh (7.6Wh) lithium-ion cell for the Alcatel One Touch Pop C7 and the broader OT-7040 / OT-7040D family. It replaces OEM part numbers TLi020F1, TLi020G1, TLi020F2, TLi020FA, TLi019B1, TLi019B2, and TLi018B2. Fit it when the original cell no longer holds voltage under screen or modem load.
- OT-7040 series cross-compatibility: The OT-7040, OT-7040D, and Pop C7 share the same battery bay dimensions, contact layout, and charge IC handshake. One cell covers all of them because the BMS talks to the same charge controller across the range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the OT-7040 charge IC and confirmed BMS communication, charge acceptance at the correct 4.35V cutoff, and stable voltage delivery under simultaneous LTE and screen-on load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before fast-charge current is pushed into an uncalibrated coulomb counter.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff, not a capacity fault. The Pop C7's fuel gauge IC still holds the old cell's discharge curve in memory, so it reads 25% when the new cell's actual resting voltage is already near the BMS low-voltage cutoff. Under modem or display load, current draw spikes and the cell voltage drops below 3.4V instantly — the BMS trips and the phone cuts out. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% to force the IC to relearn the curve against the new cell. After that cycle, the percentage readout and shutoff behaviour will track correctly.
Phone warm near the battery during the first few charges
A new cell comes with slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in original. During early charge cycles, the charge IC pushes current into that higher resistance, and some energy dissipates as heat at the cell surface. This is normal for the first three to five cycles and reduces as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone is hot to the touch — not just warm — or if charging stops before 100%, check that the charge cable is delivering clean 5V and that the port contacts are clean. Surface warmth alone during the first cycle is not a fault.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Alcatel Pop C7 powers off by itself around 25% after I put in a new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC inside the Pop C7 is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it reports 25% when the new cell's voltage is already close to the BMS cutoff threshold. Under modem or screen load, the voltage sags below 3.4V and the BMS trips before the display ever reaches 0%. Run one complete discharge to auto-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — that forces the coulomb counter to relearn the new cell's curve and the problem stops.
The battery percentage on my Pop C7 jumps around erratically — it showed 60%, then jumped to 80%, then dropped to 40% in minutes.
Erratic percentage jumps after a cell swap are a fuel gauge IC recalibration issue, not a hardware fault. The IC's stored charge map no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity curve, so small voltage swings get translated into large, inconsistent percentage changes. Let the phone drain fully until it shuts itself off, then charge it straight to 100% without interrupting the cycle. One clean full cycle is usually enough to re-anchor the coulomb counter to the new cell.
Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my OT-7040 — the phone only charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the OT-7040 sometimes defaults to a conservative trickle or standard-current charge while it verifies BMS communication with the new cell. This is a one-cycle handshake issue, not a permanent fault. Complete one full charge at the slow rate, disconnect, and reconnect the charger — fast charging typically resumes once the IC has confirmed stable voltage response from the new cell. If it still doesn't trigger fast charging, check that the cable supports the required current and that the USB port contacts are clean and undamaged.
