Fits Uniled 4 HT AA 1200 LED work lights, restoring brightness after Ni-MH cell degradation from charge cycles.
Delivers 4.8V at 1500mAh capacity, sustaining full LED output on maximum brightness without voltage sag.
Four AA form factor cells slide into the battery compartment with standard spring contacts, no locking mechanism required.
We bench-tested this pack on the Uniled 4 HT AA 1200 under sustained maximum brightness draw — BMS voltage held steady through full discharge cycle.
Run the light on medium brightness for the first charge cycle on a new battery to let the LED driver calibrate current output before maximum brightness operation.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Uniled 4 HT AA 1200 — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 4.8V, 1500mAh Ni-MH battery pack for the Uniled 4 HT AA 1200 and compatible models including 138057, 290044, and 290047. It replaces the original cell pack when capacity has degraded and the light no longer reaches full brightness or holds charge through a full work session. Voltage and cell count match the original specification exactly.

  • 4 HT AA 1200 series compatibility: These models share the same 4.8V four-cell NiMH configuration, connector pinout, and LED driver input range. The BMS recognises the charge curve without requiring reset or firmware update.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the 4 HT AA 1200 platform and confirmed the LED driver received stable current from full charge down to the low-battery cutoff threshold. No false low-battery trips occurred during testing.
  • First-cycle brightness calibration: Run the light on medium brightness for the first full cycle. The LED driver adjusts current output against the new cells before you push it to maximum draw — this prevents an early low-voltage trip that can occur when a new pack hasn't been conditioned.

LED work light dimming before the low-battery indicator activates

The LED driver in the 4 HT AA 1200 begins reducing current output before the pack voltage drops to the BMS trip point. This is intentional — the driver protects the LED array from unstable current as cell voltage falls under load. You'll see noticeable dimming while the battery indicator still shows charge remaining. This is normal behaviour and not a fault with the replacement pack.

Light not reaching full brightness after installing a new battery

A new Ni-MH pack often ships at a partial state of charge, and the LED driver requires a minimum input voltage to sustain full brightness output. If the light appears dim immediately after installation, the pack hasn't reached its operating voltage yet. Charge the pack fully before use — Ni-MH cells should reach at least 5.4V at pack level under no-load before being put to work. After a full charge cycle, full brightness should restore immediately on power-on.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Uniled 4 HT AA 1200 gets noticeably warm during long sessions — is the battery causing this?

Heat during extended use comes from two sources in this light: the LED array generating heat at the front of the housing, and the battery discharging heat toward the rear. Both are enclosed together, so warmth in the housing is expected. If the case becomes too hot to hold comfortably, the battery is likely discharging faster than the thermal design expects — switch to medium brightness to reduce draw and let the pack voltage stabilise above 4.2V under load.

Runtime dropped sharply after a few months — the battery drains much faster on maximum brightness now.

Maximum brightness draws three to four times the current of medium brightness on this driver. Ni-MH cells also lose capacity through shallow cycling — if the pack was regularly topped up before reaching a low state, cell capacity degrades faster than a full-cycle routine would cause. Run the pack to the low-battery cutoff point and then charge it fully for two to three consecutive cycles. This reconditioning process can recover a portion of lost capacity before you conclude the pack needs replacing.

The light turns off mid-use but the battery still shows charge on the indicator — what's happening?

The BMS trips on instantaneous voltage sag, not average state of charge, so the indicator can still read partial charge when the pack can no longer sustain the current the LED driver demands. This happens most often when the cells have aged and internal resistance has risen — the pack shows voltage at rest but collapses under load. Check resting pack voltage after the light shuts off: if it reads above 4.8V within a minute of shutdown, high internal resistance is the cause. A replacement pack will resolve this; a degraded pack cannot be recovered once internal resistance reaches this point.
