Fits Aeriled 290071, 290073, 290161, and 138073 portable LED work lights replacing OEM battery pack 4.8V.
4.8V and 1500mAh capacity delivers sustained brightness across full charge cycles without voltage sag.
Battery uses standard connector orientation with slot-lock design — seats flush into light housing without adapter.
Bench testing showed clean voltage ramp on first charge with stable Ni-MH discharge profile throughout cycle.
On first use with this light, run on medium brightness for one complete charge-discharge cycle before maximum brightness operation — this lets the LED driver calibrate current delivery against the new cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Aeriled 290071 / 290073 / 290161 — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 4.8V 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Aeriled portable LED work lights and flashlights, including models 290071, 290073, 290161, and 138073. It slots into the same battery bay as the original cell. Capacity is 1500mAh (7.2Wh), matching the original specification.

  • Model group fit — 290071, 290073, 290161, 138073: These four models share the same 4.8V battery bay and LED driver board. The connector type, cell count, and voltage rail are consistent across the group, so one battery covers all four.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge and discharge on the 290071 platform. The BMS accepted charge without fault, and the LED driver pulled consistent current through the discharge curve without premature cutoff.
  • First-cycle brightness calibration: Run the light on medium brightness for the first full cycle on this new battery. The LED driver calibrates its current output against the new cell's voltage curve at moderate draw before you push it to maximum brightness.

LED work light dimming before the battery indicator shows low

On this platform, the LED driver begins reducing current to the emitter before the BMS reaches its low-voltage cutoff threshold. The driver does this to protect the emitter from undervoltage flicker — it is not a fault. The battery still has charge remaining when dimming starts. If dimming begins earlier than expected, the cell voltage is sagging under load, which happens faster as Ni-MH cells age. A fully charged, fresh cell holds above 4.6V under load through most of the discharge cycle.

Light not reaching full brightness after fitting a new battery

Ni-MH cells ship at partial charge — typically 40–60% of capacity — due to self-discharge during storage and transit. If full brightness is not reached immediately, the cell voltage is below the LED driver's minimum input threshold for maximum current output. Charge the battery completely before the first use. A full charge brings the pack to 5.8–6.0V at rest across four Ni-MH cells, which puts the driver well inside its full-brightness operating range.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Aeriled work light dims noticeably after a short time at full brightness — is the battery already failing?

Not necessarily. The LED driver on these lights reduces current to the emitter once cell voltage sags under high draw, well before the BMS trips. At maximum brightness, the current draw is 3–4 times higher than at medium brightness, so the voltage drop happens faster. If the battery is new, charge it fully and run the first cycle at medium brightness to let the driver calibrate. If it dims quickly on a fully charged battery after a few cycles, check resting voltage — a healthy Ni-MH pack should read above 5.6V after a full charge.

The light housing gets noticeably warm during extended use — should I be concerned?

Heat buildup in this housing is normal. The LED emitter and the discharging Ni-MH cells both generate heat in an enclosed plastic shell with limited airflow. Ni-MH chemistry produces more heat during discharge than Li-ion, particularly under continuous high-current draw. The housing should be warm to the touch, not hot. If it becomes too hot to hold comfortably, switch to medium brightness or allow a cooling period — sustained heat above that level can shorten cell life.

The battery charged overnight but the light still won't reach full brightness on the Aeriled 290073 — what's wrong?

The most common cause is a partial charge that stopped early. Ni-MH chargers can misread a warm or recently used cell as fully charged and terminate too soon. Remove the battery, let it cool to room temperature for 20–30 minutes, then charge again from cold. A full charge should bring the pack to 5.8–6.0V at rest. If the resting voltage after a fresh full charge is below 5.4V, the cells are not accepting a complete charge and the pack needs replacing.
