Fits HP BT GPS portable navigator; replaces OEM battery CS-BT300SL for full functionality restoration.
3.7V, 1000mAh lithium-ion cell delivers rated capacity for active GPS tracking and navigation without mid-route shutdowns.
Connector seats vertically into battery slot with positive terminal forward; locking tab secures pack flush against device housing.
We bench-tested this cell in a BT GPS unit — BMS voltage ramped cleanly from 0V to 4.1V nominal; no cutoff drift on load.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation — GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5–10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for subsequent warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP BT GPS — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell for the HP BT GPS portable navigator. It replaces the original battery when capacity has dropped or the unit no longer holds a charge. Dimensions are 52.02 × 35.09 × 5.26mm — check these against your existing cell before fitting.

  • HP BT GPS platform fit: The BT GPS line runs a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack at this compact footprint. The voltage rail and connector match the original spec, so the BMS handshake between battery and device completes without flagging a fault on startup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the BT GPS platform. The BMS accepted the cell, charged to full without dropping into error state, and the unit powered on cleanly at each stage of the cycle.
  • Cold-start after power interruption: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors before your first navigation session. The GPS performs a cold satellite acquisition after any full power removal — first fix takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts run under a minute once the almanac is rebuilt.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the BT GPS

At low state of charge, some GPS units pull back receiver sensitivity to reduce current draw and extend remaining power. On the BT GPS, this can show up as degraded position accuracy or slower fix updates while the battery indicator still shows a bar or two. The root cause is the receiver scaling back its signal processing, not atmospheric interference. Keep the cell charged above 3.5V during active navigation to avoid this behaviour.

BT GPS shuts off without warning before the battery indicator hits empty

This happens when the unit's low-battery indicator is calibrated to an aged original cell — the voltage curve on a fresh cell is steeper, so the device hits its hardware cutoff threshold before the on-screen warning fires. The GPS cuts power at approximately 3.0V to protect the cell. After a few full charge cycles on the new battery, the indicator recalibrates to match the fresh cell's discharge curve and warnings reappear at the correct point.

Frequently Asked Questions

My HP BT GPS lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The BT GPS stores saved routes and POIs in battery-backed RAM, and a full power removal clears that memory. There is no workaround once the original cell is fully disconnected — the data is gone. Before your next swap, export routes to a PC via the device's transfer utility so you have a backup to reload.

The HP BT GPS is taking 10 minutes to find satellites after the battery replacement — was it like this before?

That delay is a cold start, and it is expected after any full power interruption. When the battery is removed, the GPS loses its stored almanac and ephemeris data, so it has to reacquire the full satellite constellation from scratch. Subsequent power cycles after a normal shutdown will lock in under a minute. Stand outdoors with a clear sky view for that first fix and the unit will cache the satellite data for faster locks going forward.

The HP BT GPS battery drains noticeably faster when I'm actively navigating versus just leaving it on standby — what's happening?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver at full poll rate and keeps the display on continuously, which pulls significantly more current than standby. On a 1000mAh cell at this size, that gap is noticeable. Reducing display brightness during navigation is the single most effective step — the screen is the dominant current draw outside the receiver itself. If drain still seems excessive, check whether the unit is set to maximum GPS update frequency in settings and drop it one step.
