Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mitac Mio Moov 200 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (780914QN)

This 3.7V 750mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Mitac Mio Moov 200, Moov 200u, Moov 200e, and Moov 210 portable GPS navigators. It matches the OEM part number 780914QN and the physical footprint of 50.50 x 36.40 x 5.70mm. Fit this cell when the original no longer holds a charge or the unit cuts off without warning.

  • Moov 200 series compatibility: The Moov 200, 200u, 200e, and 210 share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V supply rail, and connector pinout — one cell covers all four variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Moov 200 unit. The BMS accepted charge immediately, the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff, and the unit powered through the full boot sequence without reset.
  • First fix after fitting: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors and allow it to acquire a full satellite fix before driving. GPS performs a cold start after any complete power interruption — first fix takes 5–10 minutes versus under a minute for a subsequent warm start.

Mio Moov 200 shutting off without warning during navigation

When an aging battery's capacity drops significantly, the voltage sags faster than the on-screen indicator tracks. The unit's low-battery visual warning and the actual cutoff threshold fall out of sync, so the device shuts down while the indicator still shows one bar. Fitting a new cell recalibrates this relationship — the indicator reads accurately again once the battery holds a full charge cycle. After fitting, charge to 100% and run one full navigation session to let the fuel gauge re-anchor to the new cell's discharge curve.

Saved routes and POIs missing after battery swap

The Moov 200 stores some navigation data — including saved destinations and recent routes — in battery-backed RAM. Removing the original cell completely clears the power holding that memory. This is expected behaviour, not a fault with the replacement cell. After fitting the new battery, reload any saved POI files from the SD card or re-enter destinations manually before your first navigation session.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my Mio Moov 200 taking 10 minutes to find satellites after I fitted the new battery?

A full power interruption forces the GPS receiver to perform a cold start — it has no cached almanac or ephemeris data to work from, so it must download satellite position data from scratch. This takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view and is normal after any battery swap. Subsequent power cycles will lock in under a minute once the almanac is stored again. Step outside, leave the unit stationary, and let it complete the first fix before mounting it in the vehicle.

My Mio Moov 200 drains noticeably faster when I'm actively navigating compared to just sitting on the dash — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver continuously, keeps the backlit display on at full brightness, and processes map rendering simultaneously — all three draw current at once. Standby or menu use drops the display brightness and reduces receiver polling, so the load is much lower. To reduce drain during navigation, lower the screen brightness one or two steps in the display settings — the GPS receiver stays fully active regardless of brightness level.

The Mio Moov 200 GPS accuracy seems worse at low battery — is that normal?

Some GPS units reduce receiver sensitivity when battery voltage drops toward the cutoff threshold, trading position accuracy for power conservation. On the Moov 200 this shows up as wider position scatter or slower map updates in the final charge segment. Fitting a fresh cell eliminates the low-voltage condition that triggers this behaviour. If accuracy is still degraded after a full charge, clear the satellite cache in the device settings and allow a fresh cold-start fix outdoors.
