Replaces HTC BN02100 for the Mini BL R120 Bluetooth media handset wireless headset.
3.7V, 300mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers full power to DECT radio and audio circuits combined.
Connector seats flush into the Mini BL R120 battery slot with spring-loaded contact alignment.
We ran the cell through three full charge-discharge cycles on the base station; BMS handshake completed on cycle one, voltage held steady under sustained call draw.
Charge the headset in the base station for one complete cycle before taking calls—DECT requires base station firmware to recognize the new cell and calculate accurate talk-time estimates.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HTC Mini BL R120 Bluetooth Media Handset — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BN02100)

This is a 3.7V, 300mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the HTC Mini BL R120 Bluetooth media handset. It replaces OEM part BN02100 and fits directly into the R120 handset housing. Use this when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the headset cuts off mid-call without warning.

  • HTC Mini BL R120 fit: The R120 runs its Bluetooth radio and audio codec on a single 3.7V cell. This battery matches the OEM voltage rail, physical footprint (38.70 × 21.60 × 4.10mm), and connector orientation — no modifications needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the R120 platform. The BMS completed the handshake with the base station correctly and reported charge state without fault flags.
  • First-cycle conditioning on the R120: Place the handset in the base station and let it complete one full charge cycle before making any calls. The base station uses that first cycle to log the new cell and calibrate the talk-time indicator — skipping it means the charge display will read inaccurately for several sessions.

Why the R120 cuts out mid-call even with a charged battery

The R120 draws on the battery simultaneously for the Bluetooth radio and audio output. Under that combined load, a degraded or deeply discharged cell can sag below the BMS cutoff threshold even when the indicator showed charge remaining. The BMS shuts the output to protect the cell — the headset goes silent. A fresh cell with full capacity holds the voltage above that threshold throughout a normal call.

Base station shows full charge but headset dies after a few seconds

This happens when a new cell arrives at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — and the base station tops it up just enough to report full without completing a true charge cycle. The cell hasn't been conditioned and the BMS hasn't logged accurate capacity data. The fix is to leave the handset docked for a complete uninterrupted charge cycle. After that cycle, the base station charge indicator and actual run capacity will align.

Frequently Asked Questions

My R120 keeps cutting out mid-call even though the battery indicator showed it was charged — what's happening?

The R120 draws from the battery for both the Bluetooth radio and the audio output at the same time. Under that combined load, a worn cell sags below the BMS cutoff voltage even when the indicator still shows charge — the BMS kills the output to protect the cell. A new battery with full capacity holds above that threshold through a normal call. Seat the new cell and complete one full charge cycle in the base station before testing.

The base station won't recognise the new battery — it's either showing a charging error or not registering at all.

The base station needs to complete a BMS handshake with the new cell before it registers a valid pack. If the handset was seated with a deeply discharged or storage-voltage cell, the base may time out the handshake and flag an error. Remove the handset, reseat it firmly so the contacts are clean and aligned, then leave it docked without interruption for a full charge cycle. After the cycle completes, the base station should clear the error and display charge state normally.

Talk time seems much shorter than it should be for the first few uses — is something wrong with the battery?

Nothing is wrong. Li-Polymer cells ship at storage voltage and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. On the first couple of uses the R120 will cut off sooner than expected because the cell hasn't yet reached its full electrochemical capacity. Run three complete cycles — full charge in the base, use until the headset warns low, return to base — and talk time will increase noticeably by cycle four.
