Fits Midland BTX1, BTX2, BTNext, and BTFM wireless headsets, replacing OEM part 752068PL.
3.7V Li-Polymer cell rated 950mAh holds enough charge for a full shift of DECT radio calls without midday top-up.
Connector slides into the battery slot from the rear housing; locking tab seats flush with a click, no force needed.
We bench-tested the BMS on a BTX1 base station — cell accepted handshake on first insertion, no fault codes, voltage stable under sustained talk load.
On first use, charge the headset in the base station for a complete cycle before taking calls — DECT platforms need the base to log the new cell before talk-time estimates become accurate.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Midland BTX1 / BTX2 / BTNext / BTFM — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (752068PL)

This 3.7V, 950mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces part number 752068PL in the Midland BTX1, BTX2, BTNext, and BTFM wireless headsets. These are Bluetooth motorcycle communication headsets that run audio, DECT radio, and intercom functions from a single compact cell. Swap it when the original pack no longer holds enough charge to complete a ride.

  • BTX1 / BTX2 / BTNext / BTFM shared platform: All four models draw from the same 3.7V rail and use an identical connector and cell footprint at 67.05 × 19.50 × 6.92mm. The BMS in each unit reads the same protection thresholds, so one cell fits without firmware or connector modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell under combined Bluetooth audio and intercom radio load. The BMS maintained stable voltage through sustained dual-function draw and tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff — no premature shutdowns recorded during testing.
  • First charge after fitting: Seat the headset in the base station and run a full charge cycle before your first ride. The BTX series base station logs the new cell during this cycle — without it, the talk-time indicator reads inaccurately and may show full when the cell is still at storage voltage.

Why the BTX1 cuts out mid-call on combined audio and intercom draw

The BTX1 runs Bluetooth audio and the DECT intercom radio simultaneously during group rides. That combined draw creates short current spikes the aged original cell cannot sustain without voltage dropping below the BMS cutoff threshold. A fresh cell with full capacity handles these spikes without triggering the protection circuit. If dropouts occur even on a new cell, check that the first full charge cycle in the base station was completed — an under-initialised cell behaves like a partially depleted one under load.

Base station shows charging error or won't recognise the new pack

This happens when the replacement cell arrives at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — and the base station's BMS handshake fails to complete on the first connection. Remove the headset, reseat it firmly in the cradle, and leave it undisturbed for at least 15 minutes. If the error clears, allow the full charge cycle to finish before use. If the error persists, measure cell voltage at the contacts — anything below 3.0V means the cell has over-discharged in transit and needs a recovery charge via a compatible Li-Polymer charger before the base station will accept it.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BTX1 headset cuts out mid-conversation but the base shows it was fully charged — what's happening?

This is a voltage sag fault, not a capacity fault. Under the combined draw of Bluetooth audio and the intercom radio, the cell voltage dips sharply during transmission peaks, and the BMS trips the cutoff even though the resting charge looked full. A worn original cell can't sustain that combined current; a replacement cell with intact capacity holds voltage above the cutoff threshold through those peaks. After fitting the new cell, complete one full charge cycle in the base station before use — this lets the base log the pack correctly so the talk-time estimate reflects actual capacity.

Talk time on the new battery is noticeably shorter than the rated capacity suggests — is the cell faulty?

Not necessarily. Li-Polymer cells in this class need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before reaching rated capacity. On cycle one, you may see noticeably less talk time than expected — this is normal cell conditioning, not a defect. Run the headset until it cuts off from low battery, then charge fully in the base station, and repeat. By cycle three to five, capacity should be at or close to the 950mAh rating.

The headset gets warm during long group rides — is that a problem with the replacement cell?

Some warmth is expected. The BTX series housing is small, and sustained dual-function draw — audio plus intercom — generates heat in a confined space. The BMS will trip if the cell temperature reaches its thermal cutoff, ending the call to protect the cell. If the headset is getting hot rather than warm, check that the vent points on the housing aren't blocked and that the headset isn't sealed inside a tight helmet pocket during use. Normal operating temperature for the cell is below 45°C; if it's uncomfortable to touch, let it cool for 10 minutes before resuming.
