Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ionvac Optimax UltraClean UV Roboti / SmartClean Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 14.4V, 2600mAh (37.44Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the Ionvac Optimax UltraClean UV Roboti, SmartClean 2000, and SmartClean V4 robotic vacuums. It slots into the battery bay using the same connector and cell format as the factory unit. When the original cell degrades and the robot stops completing full floor cycles, this brings the vacuum back to normal operating capacity.
- Shared platform across three models: The Optimax UltraClean UV Roboti, SmartClean 2000, and SmartClean V4 run the same 14.4V power rail and use an identical connector housing and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one cell fits all three without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through charge and discharge cycles on the SmartClean platform and confirmed the BMS communicated correctly with the dock charger — charge acceptance was normal and protection thresholds fired as expected under load simulation.
- Dock charging habit for robotic vacuums: Do not leave the robot sitting on the dock permanently between uses. Continuous trickle charging on lithium cells accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, remove from the dock, and return it only when the battery needs replenishing.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens because the motor draws more current when the filter is partially blocked — the BMS reads that elevated draw as a low-voltage condition and begins stepping back power delivery before the indicator reflects actual remaining charge. The battery looks fine on the display, but the cell is sagging under load. Clean or replace the filter first. If suction recovers, the battery is not the root cause. If suction remains weak with a clean filter, the cell has lost enough capacity that its internal resistance is causing voltage sag under normal motor load — at that point, replacement is the fix.
Motor cuts out mid-cycle and then restarts on its own
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a motor fault. When sustained suction restriction — blocked filter, tangled brush roll, or tight carpet pile — forces the motor to pull current above the BMS threshold, the protection circuit opens and kills power. The BMS resets after a few seconds, which is why the robot restarts and continues. Clear the restriction, check the brush roll for hair wrap, and confirm the filter is clean. If the cutout persists with no blockage present, test the resting voltage of the cell — anything below 13.0V at rest indicates a degraded pack that can no longer handle the motor's peak draw.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Ionvac SmartClean finishes its cycle way too early — could the filter be causing it even with a new battery?
Yes — a clogged or restricted filter forces the motor to draw above its rated current, which causes the BMS to throttle output and triggers an early low-voltage cutoff even on a fresh cell. Pull the filter and hold it up to light; if airflow is visibly restricted, wash or replace it before assuming the battery is at fault. We saw this exact pattern on the bench — motor current spiked nearly 40% with a partially blocked filter. Fit a clean filter, run a full cycle, and reassess.
The Ionvac robot sits on the dock all day every day — could that have killed the original battery faster than normal?
Almost certainly yes. Continuous dock charging keeps lithium cells in a high state of charge with a low-level trickle current applied constantly, which accelerates electrolyte degradation and capacity fade. This is one of the most common reasons Ionvac SmartClean batteries need early replacement. With the new battery, charge to full and remove the robot from the dock — only return it when the cell needs charging.
The replacement battery installed fine but the dock won't start charging — the indicator just sits there doing nothing.
The dock charger expects a BMS handshake before it delivers current — if the BMS in the replacement cell does not respond in the expected sequence, the charger stays idle as a safety measure. First, confirm the battery is seated fully and the contacts are clean and making solid connection. Then try a hard reset: remove the battery, hold the power button for ten seconds, reinsert the battery, and place the robot on the dock. If the charger still does not initiate, check the dock contacts against the battery terminals with a multimeter — you should see 16.8V present at the dock pins before handshake.
