Fits IXS Heat-ST Gloves; replaces OEM part number MWBT2-IXS.
7.4V, 2000mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers consistent voltage to heating elements throughout a charge cycle.
Two-piece pack configuration slots into IXS Heat-ST pouch with magnetic alignment; polarity-keyed connector prevents reverse insertion.
We bench-tested the BMS under sustained heating load; cell held 7.2V minimum threshold and delivered clean cutoff at target discharge depth.
Start on the lowest heat setting for the first 10 minutes on a new battery — heating elements draw significant current at maximum and a new cell benefits from a short warm-up period before full power operation.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

IXS Heat-ST Gloves — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (MWBT2-IXS)

This is a 7.4V, 2000mAh lithium-polymer replacement battery for the IXS Heat-ST Gloves. It slots into the battery compartment on each glove and powers the embedded heating elements directly. Two cells are included — one per glove — matching the original MWBT2-IXS specification at 14.8Wh total.

  • Heat-ST Gloves compatibility: The MWBT2-IXS cell runs at 7.4V nominal to match the heating element voltage rail in the Heat-ST platform. Swapping to a different voltage will either under-drive the elements or trip the glove's onboard protection circuit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran each cell at sustained draw across all heat settings. The BMS held stable at low and mid settings; at maximum, current draw spiked as expected and the protection circuit responded correctly with no false cutoffs during normal cycling.
  • First-use heat setting protocol: Start on the lowest heat setting for the first 10 minutes with a new cell. The heating elements pull significant current at maximum, and a fresh lithium-polymer cell benefits from operating at a lower draw before full power is demanded.

Heating element cutting out mid-use on maximum setting

At maximum, the heating elements in the Heat-ST Gloves draw sustained high current — the BMS is set to cut power if that draw exceeds its protection threshold, even briefly. A degraded or cold cell hits its internal resistance limit faster, which triggers the cutoff before the element reaches temperature. This is not a glove fault — it is the battery's BMS protecting the cell from over-discharge under load. Switch to medium setting to recover, then step back up slowly once the cell has stabilised above 7.0V under load.

Glove not reaching full heat level despite a full charge

If the glove runs but never gets as hot as it should, the cell voltage is sagging under load before the heating element can reach full operating temperature. This typically means the original battery has lost enough capacity that resting voltage looks fine at 8.4V fully charged, but voltage collapses toward 6.8V the moment the element draws current. A new 2000mAh cell at 7.4V nominal restores the sustained voltage the heating circuit needs. Check resting voltage first — if the old cell reads below 7.0V at rest, replacement is the fix.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Heat-ST Gloves cut out after a few minutes on the highest heat setting — is the battery faulty?

Not necessarily faulty — the BMS is doing its job. At maximum heat, the glove's heating elements draw sustained high current, and if the cell's internal resistance is high (common in aged or cold Li-polymer cells), voltage sags fast enough to trip the protection circuit. We confirmed this behaviour on the bench — the cutoff happens at the cell level, not in the glove's controller. Switch to medium, let the cell stabilise for a minute, then step back up to maximum.

The Heat-ST Gloves drain significantly faster on high heat than on low — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong — this is expected behaviour. The high heat setting draws roughly three to four times the current of the low setting, so the 2000mAh cell depletes proportionally faster. It is not a sign of a failing battery; it is a direct result of how resistive heating elements work — more current equals more heat, but also faster discharge. If heat duration on high matters, use medium as the default setting and reserve maximum for short bursts in the coldest conditions.

My Heat-ST Gloves barely heat up in very cold weather even with a freshly charged battery — what is happening?

Lithium-polymer cells lose usable capacity as temperature drops — at sub-zero conditions, a 2000mAh cell can deliver noticeably less energy than it would at room temperature. The cell's internal resistance rises in the cold, which also causes voltage to sag faster under the heating element's load. Keep the battery pack pressed against your wrist or palm rather than exposed on the back of the glove — body heat alone can raise cell temperature enough to restore normal output. If the gloves are stored cold before use, charge them indoors immediately before heading out.
