Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG Xnote A405 / A410 / A505 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SQU-902)

This is an 11.1V, 4400mAh (48.84Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the LG Xnote A405, A410, A505, A515, and related Xnote notebook models. It replaces OEM part numbers SQU-902, SQU-914, 916T2017F, CQB901, CQBP901, and CQB904. If the original cell no longer holds charge or fails to register in the OS, this cell restores full unplugged operation.

  • Xnote A-series compatibility: The A405, A410, A505, and A515 share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol across this generation. One cell covers the full platform.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge, discharge, and system recognition on an Xnote A-series unit. The BMS completed a full handshake, the OS registered capacity correctly, and charge cycling completed without cutoff errors.
  • First-cycle calibration on the Xnote: After installing, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates on low battery, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after replacement

The Xnote BIOS stores capacity and health data from the previous cell in EEPROM. When a new cell is installed, the firmware compares live readings against that stored baseline and flags the result as degraded. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — the stored data simply has not been overwritten yet. Run a full discharge to hibernate-cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. After one complete learn cycle, the BIOS recalibrates and the health warning clears.

Laptop shuts down with 20–30% charge still shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual chemistry. The displayed percentage is still mapped to the old cell's discharge curve, so the OS reads 25% while the real cell voltage has already dropped below the minimum sustain threshold under full CPU and display load. The voltage cliff hits before the gauge catches up, and the system cuts power to protect the hardware. Run two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles and the fuel gauge IC will remap its curve to the new cell — shutdowns at false percentages stop after calibration completes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Windows is showing the battery as 0% or "plugged in, not charging" right after I installed the new cell — what's wrong?

The fuel gauge IC on the Xnote is still reading EEPROM data from the old battery and hasn't accepted the new cell's baseline yet. This isn't a fault with the replacement. Perform one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging mid-cycle. After that first complete cycle, the gauge re-initialises and Windows reports the correct charge state.

System info shows the wrong Wh rating — the battery shows 41Wh but the product is listed as 48.84Wh. Is the cell underspec?

The Wh value in system info is read directly from EEPROM on the old cell's data, not measured from the new one. The BIOS hasn't overwritten that stored value yet. Run the battery learn cycle — full discharge to hibernate, then a complete uninterrupted charge to 100% — and the EEPROM updates to reflect the actual 48.84Wh rating of the new cell.

The charge stops at 80% and won't go higher no matter how long it's left on the charger — is the replacement cell faulty?

This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a cell fault. Some Xnote firmware versions activate a battery protection mode that caps charge at 80% to reduce heat stress during long AC-connected sessions. Check the LG Power Manager utility or BIOS settings under the battery care or battery life extender option. Disabling that setting allows the cell to charge to 100%.
