Fits Maas AHT-7 portable radios; replaces OEM battery FNB-82.
3.7V and 1050mAh capacity maintains transmission power on sustained RF output cycles.
Connector slides straight into the radio's battery slot with positive terminal forward.
We bench-tested on a AHT-7 transceiver; the BMS accepted dock voltage immediately.
On first insertion, if the charger dock shows a fault LED, remove the battery, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly—the Maas platform requires a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS handshake before charging begins.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Maas AHT-7 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-ion battery for the Maas AHT-7 two-way radio. It replaces the original pack when the radio no longer holds charge or powers down unexpectedly during use. Dimensions are 53.20 × 35.30 × 7.10mm — confirm these against your existing pack before ordering.

  • AHT-7 platform fit: The AHT-7 runs a single-cell 3.7V architecture with a compact form factor. This pack matches the voltage rail, cell footprint, and connector orientation the radio expects. No adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through transmit loads and monitored BMS response under PTT current spikes. The protection circuit handled the draw without tripping into lockout.
  • First insertion on the AHT-7 charger dock: If the dock shows a fault indicator on first insertion, remove the battery and wipe the contact points with a dry cloth. Reseat firmly. The dock requires a clean contact cycle to recognise the new BMS before charging begins.

Why the AHT-7 cuts out mid-transmission on a new battery

Pressing PTT pulls a sharp current spike that exceeds normal standby draw by several times. If the new pack arrived at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — the BMS may interpret that spike as an overcurrent event and trip the protection circuit. The radio goes silent, then recovers seconds later. One full charge cycle brings the cell to 4.2V and gives the BMS enough headroom to handle transmit loads without cutting out.

Bar indicator showing one fewer bar than expected after fitting this pack

The AHT-7 uses a voltage-threshold bar indicator — it reads cell voltage and maps it to bars on screen. A new cell shipped at storage voltage reads lower than a fully charged one, so the radio displays one or two bars even though the pack is not depleted. This is not a fault. Charge the battery fully to 4.2V and the indicator will step up to full bars on the next power cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

The AHT-7 goes quiet for a second or two every time I press PTT — is the battery tripping out?

Yes — that's the BMS protection circuit responding to the transmit current spike. It happens when the cell is at storage voltage, giving the BMS too little headroom. Charge the pack fully to 4.2V before the first use and the cutouts will stop.

My charger dock is flashing a fault LED and won't start charging the new pack — what's wrong?

The dock is failing to complete the BMS handshake, usually because the contact strip isn't making a clean connection. Remove the battery, wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and dock with a dry cloth, then reseat the pack firmly. If the fault clears, the charge cycle will start normally.

The radio dropped to noticeably weaker TX output partway through a long shift — is the battery failing?

This is voltage sag under sustained RF output. As the cell discharges, voltage drops below the threshold where the radio can maintain full transmit power, so it steps down automatically. It's normal behaviour near the end of a discharge cycle, not a defective pack. Recharge the battery and the radio will return to full TX power at 4.2V.
