Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Microsoft Lumia 625 / 720 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BP-4GWA)
This is a 3.7V, 2000mAh lithium-polymer replacement battery for the Microsoft Lumia 625, 625H, 720, and 720T smartphones. It carries OEM part number BP-4GWA and slots into the same battery bay as the factory cell. Voltage and connector match the original specification exactly.
- Lumia 625 / 720 platform compatibility: These four models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V nominal voltage rail, and BP-4GWA connector pinout. The BMS on each handset reads the same charge termination voltage, so one cell covers all four variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a Lumia 720. The BMS accepted charge termination at 4.2V and engaged undervoltage protection at the expected low-cell threshold with no false cutoffs during normal load cycles.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle before normal use. The Lumia's fuel gauge IC calibrates its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve during this first cycle — skipping it causes the percentage readout to drift by up to 15% in the first week.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Lumia 625 and 720
This is the most reported failure with aged cells in the Lumia 625 and 720 — and it happens with new replacement cells too if the fuel gauge hasn't recalibrated. The cell's actual voltage drops below the modem's minimum rail voltage under load while the OS still reads 25% remaining. The phone shuts down because the hardware protection triggers, not because the gauge hit zero. After one full discharge-charge cycle, the coulomb counter realigns and the shutdowns stop.
Phone won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-polymer cells self-discharge roughly 2–3% per month in storage. If this cell shipped at a low state of charge and sat before installation, the BMS may have entered lockout below 2.5V per cell. The Lumia won't respond to the power button in this state. Connect to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on; a wall charger supplies enough current to bring the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold of approximately 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my Lumia 720 showing the wrong battery percentage after I swapped the cell?
The fuel gauge IC in the Lumia 720 stores a discharge curve calibrated to the old cell. When you fit a new cell, the stored curve no longer matches the actual cell chemistry, so the percentage readout drifts. Run one full discharge — use the phone until it shuts off automatically — then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates to the new cell and the percentage stabilises.
My Lumia 625 gets warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?
A new high-impedance lithium-polymer cell draws charge differently than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC works harder on the first few cycles and generates slightly more heat. Warmth during the first two or three charges is normal and typically fades. If the phone gets hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, stop charging and check that the replacement cell is seated flat — a bowed or incorrectly seated cell creates a poor contact that increases resistance and heat at the terminal.
Fast charging stopped working on my Lumia 720T after fitting this battery — what's wrong?
The Lumia 720T's charge IC runs a handshake with the battery BMS before enabling higher charge current. On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS may respond with a conservative current limit until it completes one full charge termination at 4.2V. Charge the phone to 100% on a standard 5V/1A charger first. On the second charge cycle, the BMS handshake completes correctly and the charge IC accepts the higher current rate.
