Fits Nokia Lumia 625, Lumia 720, Lumia 720T—replaces OEM battery BP-4GWA.
3.7V, 2000mAh Li-Polymer cell powers display, processor, and wireless radios equally.
Connector slides into slot beneath rear cover; locking tab seats flush.
We bench-tested this pack on Lumia 720 hardware—BMS accepted charge cycle cleanly, voltage held stable under load draw.
After installation, run one full discharge-charge cycle before heavy use to recalibrate the fuel gauge IC against the new cell curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nokia Lumia 625 / Lumia 720 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BP-4GWA)

This is a 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-Polymer replacement cell for the Nokia Lumia 625, Lumia 625H, Lumia 720, and Lumia 720T. It slots directly into the original battery bay and connects to the same three-contact interface the phone's charge IC expects. Capacity is 2000mAh at 7.4Wh — matching the OEM BP-4GWA spec.

  • Lumia 625 and 720 platform compatibility: Both handsets share the BP-4GWA footprint, contact layout, and 3.7V nominal rail. The BMS handshake on this cell matches the NTC thermistor line Nokia's charge IC polls during each charge cycle — no negotiation errors on either model.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a Lumia 720 unit. The BMS held cutoff at 4.2V on the high end and triggered protection correctly at the low-voltage threshold without triggering spurious over-current trips under screen-on load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, run one complete discharge to near-empty before recharging to 100%. The Lumia's coulomb counter calibrates its percentage model against the new cell's actual discharge curve during this first full pass — skipping it causes the OS to display inaccurate readings for several days.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Lumia 625 and 720

This is a voltage-cliff failure, not a capacity failure. When the modem fires during a call or LTE data burst, it draws a short high-current pulse. An aged or new-but-uncalibrated cell can drop below the phone's minimum voltage threshold under that load even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. The phone shuts down to protect the SoC — the percentage reading was simply wrong. Running one full discharge-charge cycle lets the coulomb counter map the real voltage-capacity curve of the new cell, which eliminates most cliff shutdowns.

Phone won't power on after sitting in a drawer for months

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell drops below roughly 2.5V, the BMS trips its deep-discharge lockout and the phone will not respond to a normal charger. Plug it into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it connected for at least 30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS re-enable threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the phone still shows no sign of life after 45 minutes on a wall charger, check that the charger output is at least 5V 1A.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Lumia 720 keeps shutting off at around 25% battery — why does this happen with a new cell?

The fuel gauge IC on the Lumia 720 was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original worn cell, not the new one. When the modem draws a current spike, the new cell's actual voltage drops below the shutdown threshold even though the counter still shows charge — the phone cuts out to protect the processor. Run one full discharge from 100% to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single cycle resets the coulomb counter against the real curve of the replacement cell.

The battery percentage on my Lumia 625 jumps around erratically after I fitted this replacement — is the cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty — the phone's fuel gauge IC is recalibrating. The Lumia 625 stores a learned discharge model for the old cell; when a new cell goes in, the coulomb counter has no matching reference and interpolates wildly until it builds one. This settles after one or two complete discharge-charge cycles. Do not interrupt charging mid-cycle during this period — a partial cycle extends the recalibration window and keeps the readings unstable longer.

The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges — is that normal?

A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a cell that has been through several cycles. The Lumia's charge IC pushes the same current profile it used on the old cell, and the higher resistance converts more of that energy to heat during the first few charges. The warmth should reduce after three to five full charge cycles as the cell's impedance drops. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — disconnect the charger and let it cool before reconnecting; surface temperature above roughly 40°C during charge indicates a problem with the charger output, not the cell.
