Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Straight Talk Solar / Z795G — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.8V, 2000mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Straight Talk Solar and Z795G smartphones. It fits the existing battery bay without modification and connects to the same charge IC and fuel gauge circuit. Capacity figure comes from the product specification — 2000mAh at 7.6Wh.
- Solar and Z795G compatibility: Both devices share the same battery bay dimensions (58.35 × 51.20 × 5.50mm), voltage rail, and connector pinout. The charge IC and BMS handshake protocol are identical across the two models, so one cell covers both.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Z795G platform. The BMS accepted the charge handshake without fault flags, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold — no runaway observed.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before regular use. The fuel gauge IC carries calibration data from the old cell. A single slow cycle lets it map the new discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. Under modem transmission or screen-on load, the cell voltage drops sharply before the percentage shown suggests it should. The fuel gauge IC is still using the old cell's discharge curve, so it reports 25% when the actual cell voltage has already fallen below the BMS cutoff threshold. One full slow discharge-charge cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter and eliminates most of these early shutdowns. If shutdowns persist past two cycles, check that the connector is fully seated — a high-resistance contact causes voltage sag under load at the pin level.
Fast charging not working after the battery swap
On the first cycle after a cell replacement, the USB-PD negotiation or proprietary charging protocol may not activate. The charge IC runs an impedance check on the new cell before it steps up to high-current mode — a fresh cell with slightly higher internal impedance can cause the IC to stay in trickle mode. Plug in via the original cable and charger, leave it on charge for a full cycle without interrupting. By the second charge cycle, impedance normalises and fast charging typically resumes at the expected rate.

Frequently Asked Questions
The phone just shut off at around 25% — is the new battery faulty?
Almost certainly not faulty. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it reports 25% when the new cell's voltage has already dropped below the BMS cutoff under load — typically triggered by the modem or display drawing current. Run one complete discharge down to 0% then charge to 100% on a slow charger. That one cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter to the new cell, and the early shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage keeps jumping around after I installed the new cell — sometimes it skips 10% in seconds.
Erratic percentage jumps are the fuel gauge IC recalibrating in real time against a cell it has no history on. It has no stored discharge curve for the new cell, so it estimates state-of-charge based on voltage alone, which is noisy under variable load. A single full discharge-charge cycle on a standard 5V charger gives the IC enough data to build a working curve. After that cycle, percentage readings stabilise.
Phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it.
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell voltage dropped below 2.5V, the BMS locks out to prevent damage — and the phone shows nothing when you press power. Plug it into the wall charger and leave it connected for at least 30–40 minutes without trying to power it on. The charge IC delivers a low trickle current that slowly brings the cell voltage back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.9V, at which point normal charging resumes and the phone will boot.
