Fits Becker HJS 100 and HJS-100 GPS navigators replacing OEM part numbers HJS100 and 338937010208.
Voltage 3.7V and 900mAh capacity deliver 3.33Wh — enough to power navigation and satellite lock cycles on active routes.
Connector slides into the vertical slot with polarized contacts; locking tab seats flush against the device housing.
We cycled this cell on the HJS 100 platform at 50% display brightness with active GPS receiver — BMS held stable output through full discharge.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation use — GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5–10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for subsequent warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Becker HJS 100 / Map Pilot — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HJS100)

This 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion cell replaces the internal battery in the Becker HJS 100 and HJS-100 GPS navigators, including the Map Pilot variant. It slots into the same footprint as the original at 48.30 × 38.95 × 5.60mm. Fit the replacement when the original cell no longer holds enough charge to sustain an active navigation session.

  • HJS 100 and Map Pilot compatibility: Both units share the same internal cell format, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal rail. The BMS in each device reads cell voltage directly — no proprietary handshake is required, so this cell communicates correctly with the charge circuit from the first power-on.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the HJS 100 platform. The device's protection circuit accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge termination voltage landed at 4.19V — within the expected 4.20V ceiling for this chemistry.
  • First fix after fitting: After fitting this cell, power the GPS on outdoors before driving. The unit performs a cold start after any full power interruption. Satellite acquisition can take 5–10 minutes on the first fix — subsequent warm starts will be under a minute once the almanac is cached.

GPS accuracy dropping as the HJS 100 battery level falls

At low cell voltage — typically below 3.5V — some GPS units reduce receiver sensitivity to cut current draw. On the HJS 100, this shows up as position drift or an increased uncertainty radius on-screen. The GPS receiver is one of the largest current consumers in the device, and the power management circuit throttles it before the display dims. Keeping the cell above 3.6V during active navigation avoids this threshold entirely.

HJS 100 shutting off without a low-battery warning

This happens when the fuel gauge loses its calibration after a battery swap. The device tracks remaining capacity against a stored charge curve built for the original cell. A new cell at 900mAh resets that curve. Run the unit through one full charge to 4.19V and one uninterrupted discharge — the gauge recalibrates against the actual cell curve and warning thresholds realign to the correct voltage points.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Becker HJS 100 lost all my saved routes after I fitted the new battery — is that normal?

Yes. The HJS 100 stores some route and POI data in battery-backed RAM. When the cell is fully removed, that memory loses power and the data clears. Saved routes stored on the internal flash or an SD card survive the swap — only RAM-held session data is lost. Re-enter any active routes and save them to the device storage or card to prevent losing them again.

The HJS 100 is taking nearly 10 minutes to find satellites after fitting the replacement cell — is something wrong with the new battery?

Nothing is wrong. A full power interruption — including a battery swap — clears the GPS receiver's cached almanac data. The unit has to perform a cold start and download fresh satellite positioning data from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with clear sky view. Once the almanac rebuilds, subsequent start-ups lock on in under a minute. Stay stationary outdoors for the first fix and do not move until the position icon stabilises.

My HJS 100 drains noticeably faster when I'm actively navigating versus when it's sitting on standby — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is working correctly. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver and the backlit display simultaneously — those two loads together draw significantly more current than standby, where the display dims and the receiver duty-cycles. A 900mAh cell at 3.7V gives 3.33Wh of total energy; active navigation draws that down faster than any standby state will. Reduce display brightness to its lowest usable setting to extend active navigation time between charges.
