Fits Motorola Moto G52, Moto G82, and Moto G82 5G; replaces OEM part NE50 and SSB18D38323.
3.87V nominal, 4900mAh capacity delivers sustained power to processor, display, and modem without voltage sag.
Connector slides vertically into battery slot; flat flex contacts align with small retention clip on upper edge.
Bench test showed BMS accepted standard USB-PD handshake on insertion; coulomb counter initialized without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current fast charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Motorola Moto G52 / G82 Series — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (NE50)

This is a 3.87V, 4900mAh Li-Polymer replacement cell for the Motorola Moto G52, Moto G82, and Moto G82 5G. It carries the OEM part number NE50 and fits the same connector and BMS handshake as the factory cell. Capacity is 18.96Wh, matching the original specification exactly.

  • G52 and G82 platform compatibility: Both the G52 and G82 share the NE50 footprint, voltage rail, and BMS communication protocol. The connector orientation and cell dimensions — 80.70 × 63.75 × 5.10mm — are identical across the line, so one cell covers the full series without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a G52 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.35V, and the protection circuit tripped as expected under overcurrent load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle after installation. The fuel gauge IC on the G52 and G82 is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. Running one slow cycle first lets the coulomb counter reset against the new cell before high-current charging begins.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Moto G52 after a cell swap

The G52's fuel gauge IC uses a stored discharge curve from the original cell to predict remaining capacity. When a new cell goes in, that curve no longer matches the actual voltage-versus-capacity relationship of the fresh chemistry. Under peak load — 5G modem bursts, screen-on at full brightness — the cell voltage dips faster than the IC expects, and the phone interprets a brief voltage sag as a critically low state and shuts down. One full slow discharge to 0% followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the IC to relearn the curve. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% typically stop.

Phone won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If the NE50 cell drops below approximately 2.5V per cell during shipping or storage, the BMS enters a lockout state and blocks current flow to protect against reverse-polarity charging of a deeply discharged cell. The phone shows nothing on screen — no charging indicator, no vibration. Connect the phone to a wall adapter rated at least 10W and leave it untouched for 20–30 minutes. The BMS trickle-charges the cell back above its recovery threshold, typically around 2.8V, before allowing normal charge current and boot.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Moto G52 shows the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new cell — it jumped from 45% to 15% without warning. What's happening?

The fuel gauge IC on the G52 stores a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell. The new NE50 cell has a slightly different voltage profile, so the IC misreads state of charge and reports jumps or sudden drops. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it's the coulomb counter recalibrating. Run one complete discharge to shutdown and one uninterrupted charge to 100% without interruption, and the percentage readings stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my Moto G82 5G — the phone now charges slowly no matter what charger I use.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes defaults to standard 5V/1A current until it confirms the new BMS responds correctly to the TurboCharge handshake. This is a protective fallback, not a permanent fault. Complete one full charge-to-100% cycle at the slower rate, then reconnect the TurboCharge adapter. The protocol negotiation typically restores on the second cycle once the BMS has completed its initialisation sequence.

The back of my Moto G52 feels warm near the battery during the first few charges with the new cell — is that normal?

A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC pushes current into a higher-resistance load during the first few cycles, which generates more heat than you'd see with a conditioned cell. Warmth — not hot — in the lower half of the phone during charging is expected for the first two to three cycles. If the phone becomes too hot to hold or charge stops before 100%, check that the charge port and cable are clean and that ambient temperature is below 35°C.
