Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Oppo Realme GT Neo3 5G — 7.74V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP919)
This is a 7.74V, 2200mAh Li-Polymer cell built to fit the Realme GT Neo3 5G, Realme GT Neo3 5G 2022 80W, and RMX3560. It replaces the original BLP919 when the existing cell has degraded and the phone can no longer hold charge through a full day. Capacity figures come from the product specification — 17.03Wh total energy storage.
- RMX3560 platform fit: The GT Neo3 5G and its 80W 2022 variant share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. Both accept the BLP919 cell without modification to the flex cable or housing bracket.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the RMX3560 charge IC under both standard and 80W fast-charge conditions. The BMS accepted the full charge profile without flagging an authentication error or dropping to trickle mode.
- First-cycle fast-charge hold-off: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high current from the 80W adapter pushes into an uncalibrated cell.
Why the GT Neo3 5G reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The RMX3560 uses a coulomb-counter-based fuel gauge IC that builds its reference model from the previous cell's charge and discharge history. When a new cell goes in, that reference no longer matches the actual discharge curve of the replacement. The gauge reads the new cell's open-circuit voltage against the old model and outputs an offset percentage. One full discharge down to automatic shutdown, followed by a complete charge to 100%, gives the IC enough data to remap its curve to the new cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% remaining on the new cell
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated to the new cell and the phone hits a modem or display load spike. The cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold before the reported percentage reaches zero. The gauge still shows 20–30% because it is working off the old discharge curve. Run one full cycle without fast charging — a calibrated gauge will track the actual voltage cliff accurately and the shutdowns will stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My GT Neo3 5G shut down at 28% right after I fitted the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC in the RMX3560 is still using the discharge curve it mapped to the old cell, so the reported percentage no longer matches actual cell voltage. Under a modem or screen load spike, the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff before the gauge shows zero. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging — that single cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter against the new cell curve.
The phone won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it — what's happening?
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent damage. The phone will not respond to a normal charger handshake from that state. Connect the phone to a 5V USB-A charger — not a fast-charge adapter — and leave it for at least 30 minutes before pressing the power button. This low-current trickle allows the BMS to exit lockout; once the cell reads above 3.0V the normal charge IC takes over.
Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery — the phone only trickle charges now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the RMX3560 charge IC sometimes does not complete the proprietary VOOC or USB-PD handshake with a new BMS until the cell has been through one standard charge. Plug in using a non-fast-charge 5V/2A adapter, let it charge fully to 100%, then disconnect and discharge normally to around 10–15%. On the next charge with the 80W adapter the IC should re-establish the fast-charge handshake and step up current normally.
