Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy A13 5G — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BA136ABY)
This is a 3.85V, 4900mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G smartphone. It fits SM-A136B/N, SM-A136M/DS, SM-A136B/DSN, and related SM-A136 variants. OEM part numbers EB-BA136ABY and GH82-27431A both map to this cell.
- SM-A136 series compatibility: All SM-A136 variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The 85.00 × 62.70 × 5.00mm cell fits flush without modification, and the BMS communicates correctly with the Exynos 850 power management IC on every listed sub-model.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on SM-A136B hardware and monitored BMS behaviour through charge and discharge. The protection circuit held cutoff at the correct thresholds and the charge IC accepted the full 4900mAh rated capacity without error flags.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Galaxy A13 5G after a cell swap
The Galaxy A13 5G uses a coulomb counter that was calibrated to the original cell's voltage-versus-capacity curve. A new cell has a steeper voltage cliff near the low end of its charge window. When the modem fires during a call or the screen brightness spikes, current draw pulls the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold before the OS percentage reading reaches zero. The phone shuts down even though the gauge still reads 20–30%. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate resets the fuel gauge IC to the new cell's actual curve and eliminates the premature cutoff.
USB-PD fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement
Samsung's Adaptive Fast Charging protocol on the A13 5G requires the charge IC to read a valid BMS response before it steps up to high-current delivery. On a fresh cell, the BMS may not have completed its initialisation handshake on the first plug-in, so the phone defaults to standard 5V/1A trickle charge. This is not a fault with the charger or the cable. Complete one full charge cycle from under 10% to 100% at standard rate — on the second cycle, the BMS handshake completes and fast charging resumes at the expected voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Galaxy A13 5G keeps shutting off at around 25% battery — why does this happen with a new cell?
The fuel gauge IC in the A13 5G was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. A new cell has a different voltage profile, so the gauge misreads available capacity under load — the modem or display draws current that drops cell voltage below the BMS cutoff before the screen shows 0%. Run one complete discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge fully without interruption at standard rate. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates and the premature shutdowns stop.
The phone feels warm near the battery during the first few charges after I fitted the replacement — is that normal?
A new Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC pushes current through that higher resistance, and some of that energy converts to heat during the first few cycles. It is not a fault — impedance drops as the cell completes its formation cycles. If the phone remains warm past the third full charge, check that no adhesive or padding from the installation is trapping heat against the battery bay, and confirm the charge IC is not stuck in fast-charge mode on an uncalibrated cell — one standard-rate cycle first resolves that.
My A13 5G won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell during that time, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent damage. The phone will not power on from this state because the BMS blocks current flow until a minimum recovery voltage is reached. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 30–45 minutes without pressing any buttons. Most BMS circuits on Samsung cells will accept a trickle recovery charge and exit lockout once the cell reaches around 3.0V, after which the phone will boot normally.
