Fits Neeo Control 4 remote (OEM part AHB404066) — direct replacement for depleted or failed polymer cells.
This 3.7V, 1200mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full IR transmission power to the Control 4 remote.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no tab or locking mechanism required.
We bench-tested this pack on a Control 4 unit — the BMS accepted voltage immediately, no handshake delay.
On first install, verify positive and negative orientation matches the slot markings — backwards polarity is the leading cause of a non-responsive remote after battery swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Neeo Control 4 / NE-RMT — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AHB404066)

This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh lithium-polymer battery for the Neeo Control 4 and NE-RMT smart home remote controls. It replaces OEM part AHB404066 when the original cell no longer holds a charge. Dimensions are 68.20 × 39.50 × 4.00mm — confirm against your existing cell before installing.

  • Control 4 and NE-RMT compatibility: Both the Control 4 and NE-RMT remotes run on the same 3.7V Li-Polymer cell with identical connector pinout and BMS handshake. One battery covers both models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge passes on the NE-RMT. The BMS held the cutoff voltage correctly at both ends — no early shutdown, no overcharge flag.
  • Connector seating on the Control 4 remote: The flat Li-Polymer connector on this remote needs firm, even pressure to seat fully. A half-inserted connector causes intermittent power loss that looks like a dead battery. Press until you feel the latch click before reassembling the back cover.

Why the Control 4 remote drains faster after a software update

Firmware updates on the Control 4 platform can increase polling frequency between the remote and the home controller hub. Higher polling means the RF or IR transmitter fires more often in the background, drawing more current even during idle periods. If your original battery lasted months and the replacement drains in weeks, check the Neeo app for a firmware rollback option or reduce the remote's update interval in the Control 4 director settings. A resting voltage of 3.6–3.7V after a full charge confirms the cell itself is not the issue.

Remote shows charging but voltage won't climb past 3.5V

A Li-Polymer cell left fully depleted for an extended period can drop below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V — and the charger may report activity without actually recovering the cell. The BMS enters a trickle pre-charge state and may stall there if the cell voltage is too far gone. Disconnect the remote, wait 10 minutes, then reconnect to force a BMS re-initialisation cycle. If the cell still won't climb past 3.5V after 30 minutes on charge, the old cell has reached end of life and the AHB404066 replacement is the correct next step.

Frequently Asked Questions

I just put the new battery in and the Control 4 remote does nothing — no lights, no response. What's wrong?

The most likely cause is a connector that isn't fully seated. The flat Li-Polymer plug on this remote needs firm, even pressure until the latch clicks — a half-connected plug passes no current at all. Remove the back cover, disconnect the battery, and push the connector in squarely until it locks. If the remote still doesn't respond, check that the ribbon cable from the PCB to the battery connector hasn't shifted during reassembly.

My Control 4 remote worked fine for a week, then started needing to be pointed directly at the hub from close range. Was it the battery?

Yes — this is the IR LED output dropping below the threshold needed to throw a strong signal. Even if the remote still powers on, a cell sitting below roughly 3.5V under load can't sustain the current spike the IR LED needs for full-range transmission. Charge the remote fully and retest from normal distance. If the range issue returns within a day or two, the cell isn't holding charge and needs replacement.

The battery drains noticeably faster than the original did — I'm recharging every few days. Is something wrong with the remote?

Faster-than-expected drain usually points to a stuck or partially depressed button creating a continuous parasitic draw on the transmitter circuit. Remove the back cover and check that no button is jammed or misaligned after the battery swap. Also check the Control 4 director settings for polling interval — a high update frequency keeps the remote's radio active and shortens charge cycles. Confirm resting voltage reads 3.6–3.7V straight off a full charge to rule out a faulty cell.
