Fits Roku Voice Remote Pro model BGG047, replacing OEM part numbers BGG047 and 822048.
This 3.8V, 1000mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers the voltage needed for consistent IR LED output and voice command processing.
Connector slides into the battery slot with polarity marked inside the remote — positive terminal faces the spring contact.
We bench-tested this cell on a BGG047 unit; the BMS accepted the first charge cycle without fault codes and held stable voltage under button-press load.
On first install, verify polarity orientation inside the battery compartment — reversed insertion is the most common cause of a remote that appears dead after battery swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Roku Voice Remote Pro — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BGG047)

This is a 3.8V, 1000mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Roku Voice Remote Pro (model BGG047). It fits the rechargeable remote used to control Roku streaming devices, restoring both voice command and standard button functions. Capacity figure is taken directly from the product spec — 1000mAh / 3.8Wh.

  • Voice Remote Pro compatibility: The BGG047 board draws from a single Li-Polymer cell running at 3.8V nominal. The microphone circuit for voice commands stays active in standby, so the cell needs to hold voltage steadily — not just during button presses.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the BGG047 board. The BMS accepted the cell without errors, and the charging circuit brought it to full capacity without triggering protection cutoff.
  • Reconnection after swap: After fitting this battery, hold any button for five seconds to wake the remote before re-pairing. The BGG047 firmware requires a manual wake cycle — the remote will not auto-reconnect from a fully discharged or replaced cell state.

Why the Voice Remote Pro drains faster when voice search is used heavily

The BGG047 remote keeps its microphone circuit in a low-power listening state between voice activations. Each voice command pulls a short high-current burst to process audio and transmit to the Roku device. A cell that has lost capacity handles those bursts poorly — voltage sags briefly, which the BMS can interpret as a low-battery condition even if the cell shows a charge. A fresh 1000mAh cell handles these spikes without the sag.

Remote shows as charging but percentage never climbs above 10%

This is a dead-cell symptom, not a charging port fault. When a Li-Polymer cell drops below roughly 2.5V, the protection circuit locks it out and the charger can deliver current without actually reconditioning the cell. The Roku app may still display a charging indicator because it detects voltage presence, not true charge acceptance. Fit a new cell and allow a full uninterrupted charge to 4.2V before checking the battery indicator in the Roku app.

Frequently Asked Questions

I put the new battery in and the Voice Remote Pro still won't turn on — what did I miss?

The most likely cause is the connector not fully seated on the BGG047 board. Li-Polymer cells use a small JST-style plug that can appear connected but still have one pin lifted. Disconnect and firmly re-seat the connector, then hold any button for five seconds to trigger the manual wake cycle. If the remote still shows no response, check that the cell reads above 3.5V with a multimeter before ruling out a board fault.

My Voice Remote Pro works but I have to point it directly at the TV from close range — was fine before the battery swap.

This happens when the cell voltage sits below the threshold the IR LED needs to fire at full output — roughly 3.6V under load. A cell that arrived partially discharged from storage will show this symptom even though the remote technically works. Plug the remote in and give it a full uninterrupted charge before testing range again. After a complete charge to 4.2V, IR output should return to normal operating distance.

The Voice Remote Pro battery is draining noticeably faster than the original — nothing obvious is wrong.

Check for a stuck or partially depressed button — the back panel buttons on the BGG047 remote can catch under the housing after a reassembly, keeping the microcontroller active and running a continuous parasitic draw. Remove the back cover, press each button to confirm it springs back cleanly, and reseat the cover. If drain continues, check the Roku app battery indicator after 24 hours of standby — normal standby loss on a 1000mAh cell should be under 2% per day.
