Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Savant Pro REM-1000 Touchscreen Remote Control — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AHA1112200)
This 3.7V, 2200mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the OEM AHA1112200 cell in the Savant Pro REM-1000 touchscreen remote. The REM-1000 is a home automation and entertainment controller — it handles IR, RF, and touchscreen input simultaneously, which puts steady load on this single cell. Dimensions are 66.40 x 33.00 x 10.30mm; confirm these against your original before installing.
- REM-1000 compatibility: The REM-1000 runs its touchscreen digitizer, backlight, and IR blaster from this single Li-Polymer cell. All three share the same voltage rail, so when the cell drops below threshold, the touchscreen stutters before the IR output fails — not a firmware issue, a voltage issue.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and simulated home-automation loads — backlight on, repeated IR burst sequences. The BMS held voltage within spec across the discharge curve and triggered protection cutoff cleanly at the low-voltage limit with no lockout requiring a hard reset.
- Touchscreen calibration after swap: After fitting a new cell, the REM-1000 may prompt a touchscreen recalibration. Complete it before docking the remote — skipping it leaves the digitizer offset and tap targets will register incorrectly until calibration runs.
Why the REM-1000 touchscreen goes unresponsive before the remote stops transmitting
The REM-1000's touchscreen digitizer draws power continuously to maintain touch sensitivity, even in standby. As the cell ages and internal resistance climbs, the digitizer loses stable voltage first — the IR blaster can still fire short bursts on a weaker cell because each transmission is brief. This means users often report an unresponsive screen while the remote still seems to "work" when they press physical shortcuts. Replacing the cell resolves this; don't chase a firmware or screen fault until the battery is confirmed healthy.
REM-1000 shows charging indicator but battery percentage stays stuck
A stuck charge percentage on the REM-1000 is almost always a fuel-gauge calibration issue, not a faulty replacement cell. The onboard fuel gauge loses accuracy when a deeply discharged original cell is swapped out — the new cell's actual state of charge doesn't match the gauge's stored reference. Run the new cell down until the remote shuts off, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without using the remote mid-cycle. This resets the gauge reference and the percentage will track correctly from that point forward.

Frequently Asked Questions
I installed the new AHA1112200 battery and the REM-1000 still won't turn on — what did I miss?
The most common cause is the connector seated at a slight angle — Li-Polymer packs on the REM-1000 use a small JST-style plug, and a partial connection passes no power at all. Disconnect and re-seat the connector until it clicks flat, then hold the power button for five seconds. If the remote still doesn't respond, check that the cell shipped with a charge above 3.5V using a multimeter before assuming a fault.
My REM-1000 is working but I have to point it directly at the hub receiver now — it never needed that before.
This is an IR output threshold issue. When the cell voltage sags — even slightly below the IR driver's minimum operating voltage — the blaster still fires but at reduced power, cutting effective range significantly. A new cell at full charge restores the output level. If range is still short after the swap, check for a stuck button on the remote face causing a parasitic draw that's keeping the cell below peak voltage.
The replacement battery is draining noticeably faster than the original did when it was new.
The most likely cause is a stuck or partially depressed button on the REM-1000 creating a constant parasitic draw — the backlight or digitizer stays active and drains the cell faster than normal use would. Remove the back cover, check that no debris is lodged under the buttons, and cycle each one to confirm it springs back fully. If the drain continues with no stuck buttons confirmed, check whether the Savant system is polling the remote frequently via RF, as high poll rates keep the radio module active and shorten charge cycles.
