Fits Olympia Birdy Voice and Serd Concord 3263 cordless phones, replacing the OEM 3.6V handset battery.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers rated capacity for standard talk and standby cycles on DECT handsets.
Connector slides into the battery compartment underneath the handset with a single retention clip at the base.
We bench-tested this pack against the original Birdy Voice charger — BMS accepted voltage immediately and cycled without base errors.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require slow initial charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Olympia Birdy Voice / Serd Concord 3263 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Olympia Birdy Voice and Serd Concord 3263 cordless phones. It fits directly into the handset and restores normal operation when the original cell no longer holds a charge. Capacity is rated at 2.52Wh, matching the original specification.

  • Birdy Voice and Concord 3263 fit: Both handsets run on the same 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH pack with an identical footprint — 45.90 × 31.20 × 10.70mm — and share the same connector orientation. One part covers both models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the base station charger and confirmed the BMS accepted charge without triggering an error state. Voltage at full charge read within the expected Ni-MH range before we cleared it for stock.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handsets: Place the handset in the base immediately after fitting and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped in partial-discharge state won't reach rated capacity unless they complete one slow, uninterrupted charge cycle first.

Range dropping after fitting a new Ni-MH pack

DECT transmitters draw a brief current spike each time the handset sends a radio burst. A Ni-MH cell that hasn't been fully conditioned sags in voltage under that RF load, and the handset's transmit power drops with it. The result looks like a range problem but it's actually a voltage problem. Run three to five full charge-and-use cycles and the cell's internal resistance falls — voltage holds steady under load and range returns to normal.

Base station showing no charge or flashing error light after swap

Ni-MH batteries can sit in storage long enough for cell voltage to fall below the threshold the base station uses to detect a valid pack. When the base sees voltage below roughly 3.0V it won't start a charge cycle — it flags an error instead. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly so the contacts are fully engaged. If the error persists, a short 15-minute trickle from a standalone Ni-MH charger at 50mA is enough to bring cell voltage above the acceptance threshold and let the base take over.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Olympia Birdy Voice talk time is much shorter than expected even after charging overnight — is that normal?

Yes, for the first few cycles. Fresh Ni-MH cells don't deliver full rated capacity until they've been conditioned. Run three to five complete charge-and-use cycles — each time, use the handset until it signals low battery, then return it to the base for a full charge. By cycle four or five, the 700mAh rating is reachable and talk time stabilises.

The Birdy Voice handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT phones clear their pairing registration when power drops to zero. The fix is to re-register the handset through the base station menu — on most Olympia bases, hold the registration button on the base for three seconds, then follow the handset's on-screen pairing prompt. Check your base station manual for the exact key sequence if the menu label differs.

My Birdy Voice battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what's causing that?

This is a contact issue, not a battery fault. If the handset isn't fully seated, the charging pins don't make consistent contact and the base never delivers a charge current — the handset runs entirely off the battery in standby. Remove the handset, check the gold charging contacts on the handset base for debris or corrosion, wipe them with a dry cloth, and reseat the handset until it clicks or sits flush. The base charge indicator light should confirm an active charge within 30 seconds.
