Fits Oppo Reno 5K, Reno K9, Reno 4SE smartphones. Replaces OEM part number BLP881 Li-Polymer cell.
Rated 3.87V and 4750mAh — restores full charge capacity to the Reno 5K after normal cycle degradation.
Connector type is JST, two-pin direct-solder. Physical dimensions match original cell slot without modification.
We bench-tested this BLP881 cell on a Reno 5K unit. BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion. Voltage held steady under sustained load with no early cutoff.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Oppo Reno 5K / Reno K9 / Reno 4SE — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP881)

This is a 3.87V, 4750mAh (18.38Wh) Li-Polymer cell built to the BLP881 specification. It fits the Oppo Reno 5K, Reno K9, and Reno 4SE. Install it when your original cell can no longer hold a charge through a normal day of use.

  • Reno 5K, Reno K9, and Reno 4SE compatibility: All three models share the same physical footprint (94.00 × 65.10 × 4.35mm), the same 3.87V charge rail, and the same BMS handshake protocol — which is why one BLP881 cell covers the entire group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a Reno 5K unit. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake cleanly, coulomb counter tracking initialised without error flags, and cell voltage held stable across the full discharge curve.
  • First-cycle fast charge tip: On first use after installation, turn off fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current fast charging pushes significant current into an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the BLP881 replacement cell

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve it learned from the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits a voltage point the IC hasn't mapped correctly, it reads the state-of-charge as critical and triggers a protective shutdown — even though real capacity remains. The fix is one full discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, which forces the coulomb counter to recalibrate its endpoints against the new cell. After two or three of these full cycles, the percentage readout stabilises and the premature shutdowns stop.

USB-PD fast charge not working on the first cycle after replacement

The Reno 5K uses Oppo's VOOC charge protocol, which requires the charge IC and BMS to complete a handshake before high-current delivery begins. On a freshly installed cell, the BMS occasionally does not complete this handshake on the first connection — so the phone falls back to standard 5V charging instead. Disconnect the cable, power the phone off fully, then reconnect. If fast charging still does not activate, complete one standard charge cycle first; the BMS handshake typically succeeds on the second cycle once the cell voltage is above 3.7V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Oppo Reno 5K shows the wrong battery percentage after I swapped the BLP881 cell — is the new battery faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the discharge curve of your old, degraded cell, so the percentage reading is out of sync with the new cell's actual capacity. Run one complete discharge — let the phone shut itself off — then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the phone. After two or three full cycles, the coulomb counter recalibrates and the percentage display becomes accurate.

The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery area during the first few charges after fitting the new cell — is that normal?

Yes, for the first two or three cycles. A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a well-cycled cell, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more heat as it pushes current in during the constant-current phase. The warmth reduces as the cell's impedance settles with cycling. If the phone gets hot enough to trigger a thermal warning or charging pauses entirely after the third cycle, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partially seated connector raises contact resistance and worsens heat.

My Reno 5K won't power on at all after the replacement BLP881 sat in a drawer for several months before I installed it — what's happening?

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS entered a lockout state to prevent damage. Connect the phone to its original charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on — do not press the power button during this period. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell out of lockout at a low current (typically around 100mA) until voltage recovers to a safe level. Once the charging indicator appears on screen, the BMS has cleared the lockout and normal charging will resume.
