Fits Orange Roya and 5042X models, replacing the original 3.8V lithium-ion cell.
3.8V at 2000mAh delivers 7.6Wh — enough capacity to restore a full day of standard use on the Roya.
Connector type matches the original slot; physical dimensions are 70.75 x 51.20 x 4.70mm with standard orientation.
We bench-tested the BMS on insertion into a Roya unit; fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell voltage signature without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging runs.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Orange Roya / OT-5042X — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.8V, 2000mAh Li-ion cell for the Orange Roya and OT-5042X (5042X) smartphones. It replaces the original cell when the phone no longer holds charge through a normal day. Voltage and capacity match the factory spec exactly.

  • Roya / OT-5042X fitment: The Roya and 5042X share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the OT-5042X platform. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, charge termination triggered at the correct cutoff voltage, and the protection circuit responded normally to load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Why the Roya reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC on the OT-5042X stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When you install a new cell, the IC is still reading against that old curve, so the percentage on screen drifts from the actual state of charge. This gap closes after one full discharge and charge cycle. Until that cycle completes, the percentage shown may be off by 10–20 points. Run the phone down to auto-shutdown and charge to 100% without interruption to complete the recalibration.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff, not a faulty cell. Under peak modem or screen load, the cell's internal resistance causes a voltage drop that crosses the BMS low-voltage cutoff — even though the gauge still shows charge remaining. It happens most on replacement cells before the fuel gauge has recalibrated. After one full discharge-charge cycle the gauge aligns and the shutdowns stop. If they continue after two full cycles, check that resting voltage sits above 3.7V before the next charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Orange Roya won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?

It is likely in BMS lockout, not dead. If a Li-ion cell discharges below roughly 2.5V during storage, the BMS trips a protection latch and blocks normal charging to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle-charge the cell back above 3.0V before the BMS will release and allow the phone to boot. If the charging indicator appears within that window, let it reach at least 10% before powering on.

Fast charging stopped working after swapping the battery in my OT-5042X — the phone just charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the new cell may not immediately negotiate the fast-charge handshake with the phone's charge IC. The IC defaults to standard 5V/1A charging as a safety fallback. Run one complete slow charge to 100%, then discharge fully and recharge — on the second cycle the handshake typically completes and fast charging resumes. If it does not resume after two cycles, test with the original wall adapter, since third-party chargers sometimes fail the USB-PD voltage negotiation entirely.

The battery percentage on my Roya jumps around erratically — it goes from 45% up to 60% then back down without charging.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating after the cell swap. The coulomb counter is comparing real-time voltage readings against a discharge model built for the old cell, and the mismatch causes the percentage to jump. It is not a wiring fault or a defective cell. Complete one uninterrupted discharge to auto-shutdown followed by a full charge to 100% — this resets the learned curve and the percentage will stabilise within one or two cycles after that.
