Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pioneer AVIC-F320BT / AVIC-F310BT — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (338937010176)

This 3.7V 790mAh Li-ion cell replaces the internal battery in the Pioneer AVIC-F320BT and AVIC-F310BT in-car GPS navigation units, along with the AVIC-F220 and AVIC-U series. It powers the navigation processor, Bluetooth radio, and display backlight. Capacity is 2.92Wh, matching the original specification.

  • AVIC-F320BT / F310BT / F220 / AVIC-U compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. Swapping cells across this group requires no firmware changes or connector modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the AVIC platform and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes. Charge termination triggered correctly at full capacity.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after fitting: After fitting this cell, power the unit fully on outdoors and let it acquire a satellite fix before driving. GPS performs a cold start after any full power interruption — first fix takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts run under a minute once the almanac data rebuilds.

Saved routes and POIs disappearing after battery swap

The AVIC-F320BT stores some route history and POI data in battery-backed RAM. When the internal cell is fully removed, that volatile memory loses power and the stored data is wiped. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is a consequence of power interruption to the memory circuit. After fitting the new battery, re-enter any custom POIs and saved home or work addresses manually in the navigation menu.

Unit shuts off mid-route with no low-battery warning

This happens when the battery indicator is uncalibrated after a cell swap. The fuel gauge reads remaining charge based on learned charge cycles from the previous cell, so the percentage displayed does not reflect the new cell's actual state. The unit hits its voltage cutoff threshold — typically around 3.0V — before the visual warning triggers. Run two full charge-to-discharge cycles to let the gauge recalibrate against the new cell's actual discharge curve.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AVIC-F320BT took over 10 minutes to get a satellite fix after I replaced the battery — is something wrong with the new cell?

Nothing is wrong. After a full power interruption, the GPS receiver loses its stored almanac and ephemeris data and must perform a cold start, rebuilding satellite position data from scratch. This takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Subsequent power-ons use a warm start and lock in under a minute. Park outside, leave the unit powered on without moving, and let it complete the first fix before driving.

The AVIC-F320BT battery percentage jumps around and the unit shuts off at 20% — what causes that?

The onboard fuel gauge calibrates its readings against charge and discharge history from the previous cell. After fitting a new cell, those learned values no longer match the actual discharge curve, so the percentage display is unreliable and the voltage cutoff trips earlier than the indicator suggests. Run two complete charge cycles — charge to full, use the unit until it shuts off on its own, then charge to full again — and the gauge will recalibrate against the new cell.

Active navigation drains the AVIC-F320BT battery much faster than just leaving it on standby — is the replacement cell faulty?

It is not faulty. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver at full sensitivity, the processor at sustained load for map rendering, and the display at working brightness — all simultaneously. Standby draws only the background processor and Bluetooth stack. The current draw during active navigation is significantly higher than standby, which is normal behaviour for this hardware. If drain feels excessive, reduce display brightness in the unit's display settings to cut the single largest power draw.
